In early November 2025, prolonged heavy rains caused deep flooding, flash floods, and landslides in a series of provinces in the South Central and Central Highlands, severely affecting people's lives and production activities. In the context of floodwaters not receding and relief work facing many difficulties, the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank) urgently activated social security resources, allocating them to branches to support the following localities: Khanh Hoa 3 billion VND, Phu Yen 2 billion VND, Binh Dinh 2 billion VND, Lam Dong 2 billion VND and Lam Dong II 2 billion VND. The funds were used to provide necessities, support health care, education and create conditions for people and customers to soon stabilize their lives.
Khanh Hoa is one of the most severely affected areas with more than 2,500 houses flooded, 350 hectares of aquaculture damaged, more than 5,000 people evacuated and dozens of deaths. On the morning of November 22, 2025, the Agribank delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Tien Truong, Party Secretary, Head of the Central Region Representative Office, directly presented 3 billion VND to support Khanh Hoa province at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province. Mr. Truong expressed his condolences to the government and people of Khanh Hoa province, and affirmed that Agribank will continue to accompany Khanh Hoa province and Agribank customers affected by storms and floods through credit policies to support interest rate reduction, debt restructuring, and production recovery loans.

Local representative, Ms. Tran Thi Tu Vien, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province said: Agribank is the first unit to provide timely support during the natural disaster, helping the province supplement resources to care for people's lives and restore their livelihoods.
On the same day, the working group directly visited the affected local people and encouraged them. The group also directly inspected, visited, encouraged and supported staff and workers of a number of type II branches and transaction offices of Agribank Khanh Hoa Branch. At Agribank Dien Khanh Branch, where floodwaters rose more than 1.2m, damaging a number of ATM machines, electronic equipment, vehicles, etc. To quickly restore transaction activities and ensure continuity in providing financial services to people, Agribank Khanh Hoa Branch plans to deploy many measures such as repairing ATM systems and electrical equipment as soon as conditions permit, and at the same time, planning to replace damaged equipment to put it back into operation soon. Here, the working group presented 10 million VND from the Central Office to support the Branch to overcome the consequences and soon restore customer service activities.

Over the years, Agribank has always been present in time at natural disaster hotspots. In the Central and Central Highlands regions alone, Agribank has recently spent 13 billion VND to support provinces during storms and floods (supporting Hue 3 billion VND, Da Nang 4 billion VND, Quang Ngai 1 billion VND, Gia Lai (formerly Binh Dinh) 3 billion VND, Dak Lak (formerly Phu Yen) 2 billion VND).
Agribank's presence in difficult and urgent times demonstrates its responsiveness, proactiveness, responsibility, and accompaniment with localities in the most difficult times, contributing to helping localities quickly overcome damage, stabilize life and restore production.
As planned, in the following days, the working delegation will continue to Dak Lak (formerly Phu Yen), Gia Lai (formerly Binh Dinh) to visit, encourage and give direct support to local people.
For many years, Agribank has always been a pioneer in social security and community development activities, especially in the agricultural and rural areas. Each year, the bank spends hundreds of billions of VND on charity programs, disaster relief support, new rural construction, education and healthcare. Since the beginning of 2025, Agribank has spent more than 80 billion VND on disaster relief and flood relief out of a total of more than 500 billion VND spent on social security programs nationwide.
