Agribank spreads love amid floods in Central Vietnam

Agribank promptly supported people and localities in the Central region after the floods, sharing resources with localities, helping people overcome difficulties soon.

On November 23, continuing the program of accompanying the South Central coastal provinces to overcome the consequences of floods, the Agribank working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Tien Truong, Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Central region, directly visited, inspected the damage situation and supported the people of the two provinces of Dak Lak and Gia Lai who are suffering from the effects of this natural disaster.

Faced with serious damage and in the spirit of promptly accompanying the locality and people in the flood-affected areas, the General Director of Agribank decided to immediately allocate 2 billion VND from the social security fund to support Agribank Phu Yen Branch, bringing the total amount of money that Agribank Phu Yen Branch received during this flood to 4 billion VND, thereby increasing the total amount of money that Agribank has allocated from the social security fund to support the South Central Coast provinces to 13 billion VND.

In Dak Lak province, the delegation visited Le Trung Kien High School in Dong Hoa ward, which suffered heavy damage: collapsed fences, flooded classrooms, and completely damaged teaching equipment. The delegation's representatives sent their condolences to teachers and students, and also provided 30 million VND in support for the school to quickly repair its facilities and stabilize teaching and learning after the disaster.

This is also a province with many deeply flooded communes and wards, many roads are still flooded, strong currents causing serious landslides, many means of transport drifting and lying haphazardly on the fields such as: Dong Hoa, Tay Hoa, Dong Xuan... The delegation also visited, encouraged and provided support to a type II branch - Tuy Hoa City branch that suffered damage in this flood.

In Gia Lai province, the working group visited, encouraged and provided support to the people of Quy Nhon Bac and Quy Nhon Nam wards. The meaningful gifts given to the people not only provided material support but also spiritual encouragement, helping the people to have more confidence to overcome difficulties.

Along with social security support, Agribank Trade Union also directly supports union members and workers affected by natural disasters at Agribank Phu Yen and Binh Dinh Branches. As a member of the Standing Committee of Agribank Trade Union, Head of Trade Union Region 5, Mr. Nguyen Tien Truong visited the branches, visited and presented support of 200 million VND to each unit.

The delegation also visited several families of Agribank Phu Yen branch staff whose houses, vehicles and many other assets were completely submerged in the flood. The sincere greetings and timely gifts were a practical source of encouragement to help the staff and their families overcome the current difficulties, stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.

The Agribank delegation’s trip to the Central region was not only a journey of supporting resources, but also a journey filled with humanity, sharing, and empathy. During the difficult days of storms and floods, the presence of Agribank contributed to igniting faith, warmth, and hope for local officials and people to have more strength to overcome challenges.
