Successfully energized the 2nd transformer station of Long Thanh airport

On November 24, Dong Nai Power Company successfully energized the second 110kV transformer station (phase 2) of Long Thanh airport. The transformer station operated stably and safely after energization.

The Long Thanh Airport Phase 2 Transformer Station under the Long Thanh Airport 110kV Transformer Station Project and the connecting line were started at the end of September 2025 with a 40MVA transformer, with a total investment of nearly 39 billion VND. In recent months, Dong Nai Electricity Company has mobilized human resources to focus on constructing the transformer station, ensuring the progress and quality of the project.

Previously, at the end of November 2024, Dong Nai Power Company successfully energized phase 1 of the Long Thanh airport 110kV transformer station project and connecting line. Phase 1 has 1 transformer with a capacity of 40MVA, a connecting line of 3.8km, with a total investment of nearly 120 billion VND.

The energization and operation of the two 110kV transformer stations of Long Thanh airport increased the total capacity to 80MVA, contributing significantly to ensuring the power supply to Long Thanh airport (both now and in the future when the airport is in operation), ensuring that the power infrastructure is always one step ahead; reducing the 22kV power supply radius, reducing losses, ensuring voltage quality, and improving the reliability of power supply in neighboring areas.

According to Dong Nai Electricity Company, Long Thanh airport is implementing many projects at the same time, requiring a large amount of electricity. On average, Long Thanh airport consumes about 730,000 kWh per month.

Currently, the main power source for the construction of Long Thanh airport is being supplied through two 110kV transformer stations outside the airport. In the future, when the relevant units complete the synchronization of infrastructure and procedures, the 110kV transformer station of Long Thanh airport will be connected to directly supply power to the project (replacing the power supply from transformer stations outside the airport), both during the construction process and when the airport is put into operation.
