Russia, Sri Lanka offer condolences to Vietnam over flood damage

According to a VNA reporter in Moscow, on November 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent condolences to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam and President Luong Cuong over the recent flood damage in central Vietnam.

In the telegrams, the head of Russia stressed the seriousness of the situation in the central regions of Vietnam: "I would like to express my sincere condolences for the tragic consequences of the floods in the central regions of the country. I would like to extend my condolences and support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wish a speedy recovery to all those affected by this natural disaster."

Central Vietnam has been hit hard by massive flooding caused by heavy rains. According to Russian media, about 70 Russian citizens were in Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa province when the floods occurred.

On the same day, Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijith Herath expressed deep sorrow over the severe damage caused by the recent floods in Vietnam. According to a VNA correspondent in South Asia, in a message posted on social network X, Mr. Vijith Herath stated: "We would like to send our deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the injured and all those affected by this natural disaster. Sri Lanka stands in solidarity with the Vietnamese people and hopes that everything will return to normal soon."

This statement reflects Sri Lanka's support and solidarity with Vietnam in these challenging times.
