The Dak Lak Civil Defense Command has ordered the Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant, Hinh River Hydropower Plant and Krong H'nang Hydropower Plant to organize operations to bring the reservoir water level back to flood level before 10:00 a.m. on November 28. This task is being actively implemented. Recorded by Nhan Dan Newspaper reporter at Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant.
Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant is required to lower the lake water level to 102m (difference parameter from lake water surface to sea level). Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant has opened all 12 discharge gates.
Also according to the representative of Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant, controlling the discharge level at below 2,000 cubic meters per second will ensure no flooding occurs downstream. Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant will reach the safety level of 102m according to the direction of Dak Lak Civil Defense Command on November 28. According to the representative of Ba Ha River Hydropower Plant, during the annual rainy season, the water level of the reservoir to receive floods is usually at 103m.
Therefore, regulating to reach 102m is a very safe preparation before the upcoming forecasted flood. According to forecasts, the tropical depression in the East Sea is likely to strengthen into a storm, directly affecting the Central provinces. In Dak Lak, there may be heavy rain from November 28-29, with common rainfall from 150-250mm, in some places more than 350mm.
As of 12 noon on November 25, the water level of Ba Ha River hydroelectric reservoir had dropped to 104.32m and continued to decrease steadily.
