The maritime training simulation system developed by Viettel High Tech has been certified by the international organization DNV (Det Norske Veritas) as reaching the highest level in the maritime simulation classification (Photo: Viettel High Tech).
This certification confirms that the product fully meets the strict requirements of accuracy, authenticity and safety according to international standards, which are key requirements when training seafarers, officers and ship operators.
This is the first time Vietnam has owned a maritime simulation system that meets the highest international standards. Not only is this a technological milestone, this certification also directly enhances the value of the simulation system for training and ship operating units in the country and the region.
Viettel High Tech's simulation system is designed as a complete ship control room in a digital environment, realistically reproducing all operations and reactions of the ship during operation.
Students can practice navigating in a variety of complex conditions such as bad weather, strong currents, limited visibility or emergency situations that are difficult or impossible to replicate in real shipboard training.
Viettel High Technology Industry Corporation's system has passed all DNV assessment levels and is ranked at Class A - the highest level of 5 levels according to DNV -ST-0033 standard.
This makes Vietnam one of the few countries in Asia that has the capacity to research and develop a standard cockpit simulation system, along with China, India, Singapore, Japan, and Türkiye.
According to reports from Market.us and Mordor Intelligence, the global maritime simulation market is expected to reach $6-7 billion during 2030–2033, with the Asia- Pacific region experiencing the fastest growth.
In the Vietnamese and international markets, the demand for simulation is increasing due to the tightening of STCW standards (International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers) and the expansion of commercial fleets, while many countries do not have simulation systems designed according to routes, oceanographic conditions or specific types of ships.
