The 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Traditional Medicine Unit took place in November 2025, so it also has the meaning of a respectful gratitude to Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhuan and the team of doctors who contributed to building that brilliant journey.

Doctor Nguyen Thi Nhuan - Choosing to "live fully" with traditional medicine
Meritorious physician, Doctor CKII Nguyen Thi Nhuan began her medical career in 1977, when Vietnamese Traditional Medicine was still facing many shortages of human resources, facilities and professional materials. From the early days of her career until taking on important positions at the Central Hospital of Traditional Medicine, including the title of Deputy Director of Professional Affairs and Head of the Examination Department, Doctor Nhuan has always been recognized for her solid knowledge, dedicated demeanor and deep sense of responsibility towards patients.
48 years of practice is nearly half a century of Dr. Nhuan living with patients, persistently researching medicinal herbs, accumulating experience and cultivating the personality of a physician, putting medical ethics first.
After completing her duties at the frontline hospital, the heart of a physician still urged her, the dream of restoring and inheriting precious traditional medicine recipes still could not be quenched. In 2015, Dr. Nhuan officially became a part of Thuoc Dan Toc, a unit that is gradually affirming its position in the field of Traditional Medicine. "This is the place I chose to continue to fulfill my lifelong dream, which is to preserve the quintessence of Vietnamese medicine for Traditional Medicine" - Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhuan shared.

Traditional Medicine - A place to share a common ideal and aspiration
When asked what made the doctor decide to continue working at Thuoc Dan Toc after receiving the retirement decision, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhuan always mentioned a simple but profound reason: Thuoc Dan Toc is where the doctor saw the ideal that she wanted to pursue for many decades of living in the medical profession.
Right from the first days of work, the doctor clearly felt the special spirit of Traditional Medicine: Seriousness in research, respect when implementing traditional medicine and always putting the patient at the center. The desire to restore the quintessence of traditional medicine in the new era, along with the presence of a team of young, capable and dedicated doctors, made Dr. Nhuan believe that he had found the right environment to continue his contributions.
During that journey, Dr. Nhuan not only directly participated in examining and treating patients, but also made an important contribution in orienting the expertise on the value of traditional medicine, imparting research experience and knowledge of prescription and combination of drugs accumulated for nearly half a century to the next generation of doctors. The doctor always believes that a traditional medicine unit that wants to develop sustainably cannot rely only on prescriptions or treatment techniques, but must have people with enough heart and capacity to maintain and spread that value.

Although she is over 60 years old, Doctor Nguyen Thi Nhuan still maintains her enthusiastic working spirit. Every day, she regularly examines and consults each patient. For doctors, medical examination and treatment is not only a professional responsibility but also an important part of life. Doctors often say that the more they work, the more they love their job and as long as their health allows, they still want to continue to devote themselves to medicinal plants and patients.
In November 2025, Thuoc Dan Toc Traditional Medicine Clinic solemnly held its 15th anniversary celebration, the presence of Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhuan was considered a vivid demonstration of the core values that it pursues. Dr. Nhuan is considered the second generation of the center, and is also the core generation at the present time.
Doctor Nguyen Thi Nhuan possesses all three elements that make up the image of a traditional medicine practitioner in modern times: deep expertise, solid experience and brilliant medical ethics. During the 15th anniversary of the clinic, the doctor was solemnly honored by the Board of Directors, recognizing her important contributions to the journey of building and developing the unit.
As the Traditional Medicine Clinic closes its 15-year journey and opens new paths, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhuan continues to maintain her desire to continue to contribute, to continue to pass on her profession, and to accompany the young medical team to continue to make contributions beyond the 15-year mark. This is not only her own journey, but also a lasting continuation for the future of Vietnamese Traditional Medicine.
