Ms. DTTH discovered a tumor in her upper jaw and was examined and treated at a hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The results confirmed that she had a tooth enamel tumor, but due to limited financial conditions, she did not continue treatment. After a while, the tumor continued to grow and spread, causing deformity of the entire face and making it almost impossible for the patient to eat or live normally.

On September 25, Ms. H. was admitted to Binh Duong General Hospital for treatment with a tumor measuring 25x20x25cm, severely deformed with rupture points, fluid leakage and increased blood vessel proliferation, warning signs of infection, bleeding and life-threatening risk.
Faced with the complicated situation, Binh Duong General Hospital held a hospital-wide consultation, assessing this as a complicated case, requiring combined surgery from many specialties. On October 3, the Orthopedic Trauma Department team performed a surgery lasting several hours with the following steps:
• Remove the entire tumor and the entire right maxilla.
• Reconstruct the defect with the iliac crest bone flap.
• Take a flap of skin and part of the anterior-lateral thigh muscle to reconstruct and cover the face area.
A representative of the surgical team said that although enamel tumors are benign, they can grow very large, erode bones and cause severe deformities if not treated early.
In patient H., large tumor size is rare, causing difficulties in both dissection and maxillofacial reconstruction.
The surgery requires high precision to completely remove the tumor and restore the jaw structure with autologous materials, ensuring chewing, swallowing function and aesthetics.
After surgery, the patient's health is stable, the reconstructed area is doing well. The patient continues to be closely monitored for functional and aesthetic rehabilitation of the face in the next phase.
According to doctors, this patient's case shows the consequences of delaying treatment of maxillofacial tumors, and at the same time acknowledges the efforts of the medical team at Binh Duong General Hospital in handling complicated cases, contributing to improving the quality of life for patients in the area.
