Petrovietnam supports people in the Central and Central Highlands regions affected by floods

The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) has launched a call for all staff and workers to join hands to support people in flood-affected areas.

The floods that lasted from November 16 to 22 caused particularly serious damage in the Central and Central Highlands provinces. This is considered one of the most severe natural disasters in many years, when in just a few days, flash floods caused landslides and serious flooding, leaving many residential areas isolated, hundreds of houses and infrastructure damaged, properties swept away, people's lives facing many difficulties, shortages needing support from the community.

Promoting the tradition of mutual love and the cultural beauty of "loyalty", Petrovietnam promptly organized working groups to share, encourage and support people in the provinces affected by natural disasters. Along with that, the Group launched a donation program to support people in flood-affected areas. This is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, spreading human values ​​and commitment to join hands and accompany people to overcome difficulties.

At the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam Le Manh Hung said that in recent days, natural disasters have continuously caused heavy damage, especially in the Central and Central Highlands regions. Before the floods had time to recede, the authorities continued to warn that storm No. 15 was likely to make landfall, forecasting great losses in human lives and property. In the context that the whole country is turning to the Central region with practical acts of sharing, this morning, the National Assembly also organized a fundraising campaign to support people in flood-affected areas.

Chairman Le Manh Hung emphasized that recently, Petrovietnam, its member units and mass organizations within the Group have proactively and actively implemented many social security activities, promptly supporting people affected by natural disasters.

In addition to efforts to focus on production and business and to complete the 2025 management goals, each Petrovietnam employee needs to promote social responsibility, spread the spirit of humanity, share with the community and with colleagues who are facing difficulties due to natural disasters. With the beauty of the culture of affection, Chairman of the Board of Directors Le Manh Hung called on all cadres, party members and employees of the entire Group to join hands to support the people of the Central region.

On behalf of the Group's leadership, Chairman of the Board of Directors Le Manh Hung respectfully thanked the mass organizations and units in the entire Group for proactively and actively implementing support activities in the past time. At the same time, he sent his gratitude to all Petrovietnam employees who have always promoted the spirit of enthusiasm and the tradition of "loyalty", joining hands to contribute to the people and colleagues in the flood-hit areas to overcome difficulties.

During the development process, in addition to production and business activities, social security work has always been a focus of Petrovietnam. With the spirit of social responsibility and sharing, every year, the Group maintains a budget of hundreds of billions of VND for social security work to support poor rural areas and areas affected by natural disasters, contributing to encouraging and stabilizing the lives of households in many localities across the country.

Recently, the country has continuously suffered from severe natural disasters due to floods and rains. The Group has actively implemented activities to support people in affected areas. Specifically, the Group has spent 14 billion VND to support the damage caused by storm No. 3; 5 billion VND for storm No. 5; and 53 billion VND for the damage caused by storms No. 10 and No. 11.

During the flood in the Central region alone, the Group donated a total of 16 billion VND, of which Quang Tri received 3 billion, Hue 5 billion, Da Nang 5 billion and Quang Ngai 3 billion. Currently, the Group is completing the procedures to support the damage caused by storm No. 13 and floods in some provinces including Gia Lai 10 billion, Dak Lak 5 billion, Khanh Hoa 5 billion, Lam Dong 5 billion, and Quang Ngai added 2 billion, totaling 27 billion VND. The total amount of support to date has reached more than 115 billion VND. At the same time, Petrovietnam's member units such as PVOIL, BSR, PVFCCo,... have also quickly sent working groups to provide support to people in provinces and cities affected by floods.

Since storms 10 and 11, for each support campaign to the provinces, the Group's Trade Union has prepared 5 tons of rice and 1,000 barrels of water to deliver directly to the people. Up to now, the goods have been delivered and received in the provinces: Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Lang Son, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Dak Lak. The remaining three provinces are Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong, where trucks are currently on their way.

Petrovietnam representative said that this fundraising campaign will start from November 24 to November 27, 2025.
