Tan Son hamlet currently has 172 households with 680 inhabitants. In recent years, thanks to the efforts of the Party committee, the government, and especially the consensus of the people, Tan Son has undergone a strong transformation, becoming one of the bright spots in the new rural development program of La Bang commune.
Mentioning Tan Son immediately brings to mind the lush green tea plantations stretching along the slopes of Tam Dao mountain. Tea cultivation has long been a primary source of income, significantly contributing to the increasingly prosperous lives of the local people, with an average income of approximately 60 million VND per person per year, a high figure compared to many rural mountainous areas.
Thanks to the development of organic tea production, Tan Son tea products are increasingly trusted by consumers. In addition, linking tea production with the development of ecotourism and community tourism has opened up new opportunities for the local people.
Since 2024, the Provincial People's Committee has selected Tan Son as a community tourism area. During holidays, Tet (Lunar New Year), and the summer, the village welcomes a large number of visitors who come to experience tea harvesting and processing, explore cultural identity, and enjoy the scenery of Tam Dao. This is a "double driving force" that helps Tan Son both preserve traditional crafts and develop sustainable tourism services.
Thanks to the successful implementation of the five contents of the "National Unity Campaign for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas," Tan Son is increasingly changing towards a civilized and modern direction while still preserving its traditional identity.
The entire hamlet has 100% of households using electricity and clean water; 100% of households own smartphones and means of transportation such as motorbikes and cars. Infrastructure is complete with widened roads, a spacious community center, and other facilities serving the community built in a coordinated manner.
It is noteworthy that the movement of people donating land and property for road construction has been vibrant. Specifically, for the road leading to the Suoi Tron production area, 15 households donated a total of 390 square meters of land, helping the 260-meter road to be completed on schedule, serving both production and tourism. Every month, the households participate in cleaning the village roads, dredging canals, and maintaining a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environment. This spirit of self-reliance has created a close-knit and responsible community.

Tan Son is home to seven ethnic groups living together, so maintaining solidarity and mutual support is always a top priority. When families have joyous or sorrowful occasions, neighbors help each other; when households in need of assistance, the community readily lends a hand. Last year, the village's Front Committee mobilized residents to contribute labor and funds to build a "Great Solidarity" house for a disadvantaged household, with total funds raised from various sources exceeding 18 million VND.
The hamlet currently has three effective cultural and artistic clubs. In particular, the Dao language singing club maintains regular practice sessions and performs for tourists and during festivals and celebrations. The folk melodies and simple singing amidst the mountains and forests create a unique charm, contributing to cultural preservation and becoming a unique "tourism product." This is also a factor that helps the hamlet fulfill many criteria in building a model new rural area.
In 2026, Tan Son aims to build a model new rural village. Building on its achievements, the village has set several goals, including maintaining and improving the quality of the "National Unity Movement for Building New Rural Areas and Civilized Urban Areas"; developing a sustainable economy , expanding the area of organic tea cultivation, linking agricultural production with ecotourism and community tourism; preserving environmental hygiene, and building model new rural villages.
