Positive results
According to Nguyen Duy, Vice Chairman of the Chau Doc Ward People's Committee, in the first 10 months of 2025, the locality implemented comprehensive and decisive solutions to guide and manage the completion of socio-economic development tasks, ensure national defense and security, and build a strong grassroots political system.
Chau Doc Ward achieved and exceeded 5 socio -economic development targets for 2025, including: 242 newly registered individual production and business establishments and enterprises; total local budget revenue reaching nearly 366.2 billion VND; maintaining the status of having no poor or near-poor households; and the percentage of schools meeting national standards… Agricultural production remained stable. The total area planted with rice was 17,206.89 hectares. The average yield was 6.05 tons/ha, with an estimated production of 76,059 tons.

Recognizing trade and services as its strengths, the People's Committee of Chau Doc Ward issued a plan to promote the fight against smuggling, commercial fraud, and counterfeit goods; and established the Chau Doc Ward Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud, and Counterfeit Goods to effectively carry out this work. The locality implemented a program to stimulate consumption and tourism on the occasion of the 2025 Mekong Delta OCOP Product Connection Forum and the National Day on September 2nd; intensified the review of the current status of markets, supermarkets, and convenience stores in the area, and developed a plan for e-commerce development in 2025…
In addition, the ward pays attention to implementing social welfare work well, caring for families entitled to preferential policies, and ensuring that social protection schemes are fully and promptly implemented. Many cultural, artistic, and sports activities celebrating anniversaries and major political events are organized effectively. The police, security, and local order forces strengthen patrols, handle violations, prevent and combat social evils, and maintain political security, order, and social safety in the border urban area.
Efforts to "reach the finish line"
To ensure the successful achievement of socio-economic development goals in the remaining months of 2025, the leaders of the People's Committee of the ward requested that agencies and units continue to uphold a high sense of responsibility and proactively carry out their assigned tasks. Specifically, they should strive to achieve two growth targets: a 12% increase in the total value of products in the ward and an average per capita income of 110 million VND/person/year; while also maintaining and improving the targets achieved in 2025, as a basis for successful implementation in 2026.

The People's Committee of Chau Doc ward encourages farmers to develop high-tech agricultural models, applying scientific and technical advancements and advanced technologies in conjunction with the selection, evaluation, and classification of OCOP products. It also promotes linkages between aquaculture households, cooperatives, and processing and consumption businesses to build value chains and stabilize product output.
At the same time, support businesses and industrial and handicraft production facilities to maintain and expand their scale of operations, especially those with local advantages such as fish sauce production and dried catfish processing. Promote and introduce products through trade fairs, exhibitions, and e-commerce channels.
In the trade and service sector, the locality is strengthening trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand, and supporting businesses in expanding their distribution networks, especially for essential goods serving the 2026 Lunar New Year. It is also promoting e-commerce development, encouraging small businesses and households to utilize digital platforms to advertise and sell their products. Emphasis is placed on improving the quality of tourism, transportation, accommodation, and food services, linked to promoting the image and distinctive products of the locality…
Deputy Secretary of the Chau Doc Ward Party Committee, Ngo Thi Quynh Loan, requested the local political system to strive to accelerate the completion of socio-economic development targets. This includes strengthening the implementation of tasks set out in the resolution of the Ward Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The goal is to successfully achieve the health insurance target; promote digital transformation in the activities of socio-political organizations; and improve public administrative services by 2025.
Along with that, it is necessary to strengthen the fight against all types of crime, maintaining political security, order, and social safety. Focus on developing a plan to organize activities celebrating the Party and the Lunar New Year 2026, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the lives of cadres, Party members, and the people, looking towards a new chapter with many expectations for the border town of Chau Doc.
