At noon on November 23, 2025, while delivering necessities in Hoa Xuan commune, the relief team of the Danang Compassionate Seeds Sowing Club received information that two victims had just been discovered in Thach Tuan 1 village who had died due to being swept away by floodwaters, their bodies still stuck in deep water.
Immediately, the team coordinated with the 74 Quang Tri canoe force to overcome the flood to approach the scene. The access road was cut off, the water rose, the current was strong, but the desire to get the two victims out of the cold water made the rescue team not delay.
At around 12 o'clock, the forces were present at Thach Tuan 1 village. The two victims were identified as Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, 85 years old, and his wife, Mrs. Le Thi Thanh, 76 years old, living in a level 4 house that was destroyed by the flood in just a few hours.

In the midst of that pain and loss, the task of handling the bodies was assigned to monk Thich Phap Minh - the leader of the rescue team of the Sowing Seeds of Compassion Club, who has many years of experience in salvage and rescue. He and his members quickly performed the preliminary embalming, found the coffins and coordinated with local forces to bring the bodies of the two victims to a dry area.
On the cold water, two portraits and the body were taken by canoe away from the flood area. A heartbreaking but sacred image: the journey back, supported by people who only wanted to make the victim’s family less lonely.
During the harsh days of floods, the kindness and compassion of rescue teams are still what keeps faith and warmth for the lands struggling to overcome natural disasters.
At this time, the house was empty, flooded, and all the cattle were dead.
