On October 9, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, Vice Chairwoman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, confirmed that the province had decided to send 62 doctors and nurses and provide emergency support of 4 billion VND to the provinces flooded after storm No. 11 in the North.
Specifically, Gia Lai province supports 4 provinces that are suffering heavy damage from storms and floods, namely Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang and Bac Ninh , each province with 1 billion VND.
In addition, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to establish a team of doctors and medical staff to support Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces.
The delegation included 62 doctors and medical staff from the Provincial Center for Disease Control and medical centers in the province, divided into two teams to support the two provinces above.
The mission of the medical team is to coordinate with the health sector of the two localities to carry out environmental sanitation activities, disinfect water sources, prevent epidemics, distribute medicine, and communicate health education after the flood.
According to Mr. Le Quang Hung - Director of Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health, based on actual needs and after discussions with the Department of Health of Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces, Gia Lai Provincial Department of Health will support the two provinces with 600kg of Chloramine B and 4,000 medicine bags for households. This quantity of medical supplies is sponsored by Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (Bidifar).
It is expected that the medical team from Gia Lai province will depart for Thai Nguyen and Cao Bang provinces early tomorrow morning (October 10) to support the people of the two localities. The support work will start from October 11 to 17.
