According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, as of November 15 this year, our country has exported nearly 1.35 million tons of coffee, earning 7.64 billion USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export of this item only increased by 15.4% in volume but the value increased sharply by 62.6%.

Notably, although there is still more than a month left until the end of 2025, coffee export turnover has far exceeded the historical record of 5.62 billion USD for the whole year of 2024.

At the same time, cashew nut exports also earned 4.51 billion USD, a sharp increase of 19.3% over the same period last year and officially surpassed the export turnover of 4.34 billion USD in 2024 to set a new peak.

In the first half of November this year, businesses continued to export more than 8,200 tons of pepper, earning nearly 53 million USD. Accumulated to November 15, 2025, our country has exported about 213,400 tons of pepper of all kinds, worth 1.44 billion USD.

Accordingly, pepper exports also set a historical record when they surpassed the 1.43 billion USD figure of the whole year 2016.

Speaking with VietNamNet, pepper industry expert Hoang Phuoc Binh said that Vietnamese pepper could set a historical record in export thanks to the high price of this commodity.

He emphasized that pepper, a commodity known as Vietnam's "black gold", is in its golden age when prices are increasing sharply in the context of declining supply and high demand in the international market.

Vietnam is currently among the world's leading pepper exporting countries. However, in recent years, pepper prices have fallen so low that many farmers have had to cut down their trees to switch to growing coffee and durian - two agricultural products that bring in higher incomes.

Therefore, when Vietnam's pepper supply decreases, it contributes to pushing up the price of this commodity in the international market.

According to this expert’s calculations, the price increase cycle could last more than 10 years. Pepper prices in the domestic market next year could reach 200,000 VND/kg.

Regarding coffee products, Mr. Thai Nhu Hiep, Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee - Cocoa Association, acknowledged that coffee exports this year increased sharply thanks to three factors: Improved quality, increased proportion of processed products and strategic market expansion.

According to him, before 2020, low coffee prices caused many farmers to switch to other crops, reducing supply. The decrease in supply while demand increased caused coffee prices to rebound strongly.

In addition, businesses and farmers have made major changes in growing and producing coffee in a sustainable manner to meet the standards of export markets, including the EU. From there, a responsible coffee ecosystem from production to processing, linked to the needs of the world market, Mr. Hiep said.

Similarly, according to the Vietnam Cashew Association, exports of this item could set a new record because demand for nuts, especially cashews, has increased sharply in major markets such as the US, EU and China.

In addition, other markets such as Germany, UAE, and the UK also recorded positive growth, contributing to reducing dependence on some traditional markets. This is considered a sustainable direction for the cashew industry in the context of many fluctuations in global trade.

The Vietnam Cashew Association said that signals of stable prices, abundant orders and recovering demand are creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese businesses in exports.

Industry associations predict that by 2025, coffee exports could surpass the $8 billion mark, while cashews and pepper will bring in $5 billion and $1.5 billion, respectively.
