According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade , during the 3 days of negotiations in the 5th round of direct negotiations on the Reciprocal Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the US, the two countries' negotiating delegations made great progress in many issues, such as services, digital trade, agriculture, technical barriers to trade (TBT), food safety and hygiene standards (SPS)... and narrowed the gap in the remaining issues.
At the meeting summarizing the negotiation session, representatives of the US Trade Representative (USTR) and representatives of the Vietnamese negotiation delegation both said that the negotiation session had very positive results, creating a favorable basis for the early completion of the Vietnam - US Reciprocal Trade Agreement.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said the US highly appreciated the goodwill, efforts and creative approach of the Vietnamese negotiation delegation, especially the results of the direct negotiation session between Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer held right before the official technical negotiation session.
