'U22 Vietnam lost to U22 Uzbekistan because of bad luck'

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that U22 Vietnam was very regretful when losing to U22 Uzbekistan in a good match with clear opportunities.

Despite their best efforts, U22 Vietnam still lost 0-1 to U22 Uzbekistan at the Panda Cup 2025. Evaluating the match, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: "The U22 Vietnam players played with determination and discipline. We faced a very strong opponent, well-organized and experienced in international competition.

Despite conceding an early goal, the team remained calm, tried to adjust and regain the rhythm of the game. I am satisfied with the players' efforts and attitude, although there are still points to improve in the final stages and the ability to maintain the pressing rhythm."

U22 Vietnam played very hard.

"The early loss created certain changes, but the important thing is that U22 Vietnam maintained stability and did not get carried away by the opponent. We tried to persevere with the original tactical intention, only adjusting the pressing and approach in the second half of the first half. What I am very pleased with is that despite conceding an early loss, the players did not give up, played with concentration, and tried to find opportunities to equalize. It was just a lack of luck," added coach Hong Vinh.

Coach Dinh Hong Vinh admitted that the loss of U22 Vietnam was very regrettable, however in an international friendly match, the result is not important.

"We regret that the players created some good opportunities but lacked a bit of precision and decisiveness in the final situations. However, this is an international friendly tournament, the goal of U22 Vietnam is to build the squad, test the players and accumulate experience for the upcoming official tournaments. After the match, the players will have a meeting to review this match, thereby becoming more mature," coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized.

Regarding the upcoming match against U22 Korea, Mr. Vinh said: "U22 Korea is a high-quality team, moves a lot, has good speed and plays very modernly. U22 Vietnam will analyze the loss to U22 Uzbekistan, consider the physical condition of each player and make reasonable adjustments.
