The most impressive points at the Ca Mau Marathon 2025

As part of the activities of the second Ca Mau festival series in 2025, Ca Mau province solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Ca Mau Marathon 2025 - PetroVietnam Cup. This is the year with the largest number of athletes participating (more than 6,000 athletes) in the 5 years the tournament has been held.

Mr. Ngo Vu Thang - Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee spoke at the opening ceremony of Ca Mau Marathon 2025 - PetroVietnam Cup.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ngo Vu Thang - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province said that this Marathon is the first tournament held after the merger of the two provinces of Ca Mau - Bac Lieu and also the first time the tournament is held in the old Bac Lieu province.

This tournament gathered more than 6,000 athletes including professional athletes and runners, especially many foreign athletes participating, with distances of 42km, 21km, 10km, 5km and even 2km for children.

With the theme “Ca Mau - Destination 2025”, this year’s race offers visitors and athletes the opportunity to experience the unique natural landscape, fresh climate and unique tourism products and culinary culture of the southernmost land of the country. The Organizing Committee wishes to convey the message: “Ca Mau - a safe and friendly destination; a place where nature and peace converge”.

“Through this Race, we will open up opportunities to increase exchanges, cooperation, attract investment, create conditions for researchers, experts, and travel businesses to access, survey, and learn about the potential and advantages of tourism development, as well as other areas in which Ca Mau province has strengths,” Mr. Thang emphasized.

Miss Vietnam Global Tourism 2021 Ly Kim Thao - tourism ambassador of Bac Lieu province (now Ca Mau province) was chosen as the image representative of the race.

Three member units of PetroVietnam will accompany the race for the next 3 years with an amount of 4.5 billion VND/unit in the period 2026 - 2028. Mr. Van Tien Thanh - General Director of Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Corporation presented a symbolic board to Ca Mau province.

Mr. Tran Quang Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vietnam National Energy Industry Group said that the Ca Mau Marathon 2025 has 3 firsts, including: A record number of 6,000 athletes participating; the tournament is organized on a new route with very special elements of the new Ca Mau and is organized in a very rhythmic, very impressive and very meaningful way.

Mr. Dung cited that the program "Million steps to light up the belief" was determined by the Organizing Committee and PetroVietnam together with Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Corporation, each step will be valued at 600 VND. Thus, with 6,000 athletes and an estimated conquered route, there will be 60 billion VND contributed to the "Light up the belief" scholarship fund to take care of difficult lives, helping students to confidently go to school.

On this occasion, Vietnam National Energy Industry Group and its member units continued to accompany the Ca Mau Marathon for the next 3 years, 2026 - 2028.
