After participating in the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships in Indonesia last October, the Vietnamese men's gymnastics team returned to Hanoi to continue training at the National High-Level Sports Training Center (Nhon). The team's morning training session will start at around 9:30 with warm-up and stretching exercises.

Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, born in 2002, won a silver medal at the 19th Asian Games and a gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games in his specialty, the rings. He has been a mainstay of the Vietnamese men's gymnastics team for the past 3 years.

This year, the organizing committee of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand cut out the team and all-around events, so the roles and expectations for Khanh Phong and Xuan Thien are very large.

Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, born in 2002, is currently the best gymnast in Vietnam in the pommel horse event. He won gold medals in the pommel horse event at the 31st SEA Games, the 32nd SEA Games and a gold medal at the 2025 World Cup in Bulgaria.

Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu (2001) is the gold medal hope for the women's vault category of Vietnamese gymnastics at this year's SEA Games. In the middle of the year, she excellently brought home the silver medal at the Asian Games, thereby making history for Vietnamese gymnastics in the continental arena.

Dinh Phuong Thanh (born in 1995) is currently holding the No. 1 position in the horizontal bar and parallel bars in Vietnam. In the national gymnastics competitions in recent years, Phuong Thanh has had almost no domestic rivals. The Vietnamese gymnasts finished their practice session around noon with hearty laughter. In the afternoon, they continued to practice diligently. Until the day of departure to Thailand (December 7), the athletes will maintain regular practice twice a day, without a day off. The goal of the Vietnamese gymnastics team is to win 2-3 gold medals at the 33rd SEA Games.
