Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry trains more than 100,000 engineers and bachelors.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan - Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry said that after 7 decades of development, the school has trained more than 100,000 engineers, bachelors, masters and doctors, becoming a key training facility in the Southern region in the fields of agriculture - forestry - fisheries and related industries.

On November 15, Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry celebrated its 70th anniversary (1955 - 2025) and announced its new development strategy with the goal of becoming an internationally prestigious research university by 2045. On this occasion, the school was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal awarded by the President .

Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry received the Second Class Labor Medal awarded by the President on the occasion of its 70th anniversary.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tat Toan, Principal, said that after 7 decades of development, the school has trained more than 100,000 engineers, bachelors, masters and doctors, becoming a key training institution in the Southern region in the fields of agriculture - forestry - fisheries and related industries. The school sets out the orientation of building an innovation ecosystem, promoting applied research along with technology transfer, closely linked to businesses and the development needs of the green economy .

"The 2025-2045 strategy focuses on two pillars: Science - technology and training. The school promotes research areas such as smart agriculture , circular economy, sustainable energy; application of AI, IoT, big data, blockchain, biotechnology in agricultural production. Many projects are being implemented to support the national program on green transformation, contributing to the Net Zero 2050 target," said Mr. Toan.

In the field of training, the school accelerates digital transformation with a synchronous online teaching and learning system, a high rate of digitalized learning materials and the expansion of international programs. The school currently has more than 150 international academic cooperation agreements and more than 200 businesses accompanying students in training, research and entrepreneurship.

Representing the Ministry of Education and Training, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc highly appreciated the school's contributions to the university education system, especially in training high-quality human resources for the agricultural economic sector.

"The Ministry recommends that the school continue to develop key industries, modernize facilities, increase the number of PhDs and promote business cooperation to quickly reach the standards of a research university," Mr. Phuc advised.
