More than 3,000 athletes 'Touch the heritage area'
TPO - On November 16, at Yen Tu Historical Relic and Scenic Area (Quang Ninh), the Yen Tu Heritage Marathon 2025 with the theme "Touching the Heritage Area" officially opened, attracting more than 3,000 professional and amateur athletes from many provinces and cities across the country.

This year's tournament includes 4 distances: 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km, with a total prize value of more than 200 million VND.
Yen Tu Heritage Marathon 2025 brings athletes a journey to fully experience the most unique and beautiful scenery of Yen Tu.
The 42.195km Marathon distance is likened to the “journey of the persistent warriors”, taking athletes on a complete journey connecting nature, culture and spirituality on the heritage land, with the asphalt surface accounting for 99.99% and the entire route being 100% illuminated, ensuring safety for every step of the early morning run. From the Yen Tu Legacy Stone Gate area, the road winds through green forests, the 5th Regiment Temple, a relic marking the resilient fighting spirit of the army and people of the sacred land, then continues to sacred sites such as Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Monastery, Cam Thuc Pagoda, Suoi Tam Pagoda...
At km22 – km23, athletes can admire the poetic scenery around Yen Trung Lake tourist area, “Da Lat of Quang Ninh”, where pine forests and blue lake surface bring a sense of peace, recharging energy for the remaining journey. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the competition in the distances according to the schedule. Security, medical and logistics work were arranged tightly, ensuring absolute safety for the participants. Yen Tu Heritage Marathon 2025 "Touching the Heritage Area" is a large-scale international grassroots running race, held for the second time at the Yen Tu Historical Relic and Scenic Area.
This year, the first prize was organized by the People's Committee of Yen Tu ward (newly established under the 2-level local government model from July 1, 2025) in coordination with the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association and Vietnam Simple Service Company Limited.
The event is a practical cultural, tourism and sports activity to celebrate major holidays in the last months of 2025, especially to celebrate the event of receiving the World Cultural Heritage Recognition Certificate awarded by UNESCO to the historical relic and scenic complex of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac, associated with the Grand Ceremony to celebrate the 717th anniversary of the day King Tran Nhan Tong entered Nirvana, scheduled to be held on December 20, 2025 (ie November 1 of the lunar calendar). Through that, the race contributes to spreading the spirit of sports training, building a healthy lifestyle, while stimulating tourism, promoting the image of Yen Tu ward and the world cultural heritage of Yen Tu to domestic and international tourists in the Fall - Winter this year.
