The plan was issued to deploy the hosting and coordination of the implementation of the Project "The 24th Vietnam Film Festival - 2025" chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, thereby linking the activities of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival - 2025 with key political and cultural events of 2025, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 80th Anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); the 55th anniversary of the establishment, formation and development of the Vietnam Film Festival (1970 - 2025); towards the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam .
Continuing and spreading values and meanings to the public; concretizing the slogan "Vietnamese Cinema - Sustainable development and international integration in the new era" by affirming the position of Ho Chi Minh City cinema in particular and of Vietnam in general towards the integration process, promoting the professionalization of the cinema value chain from composition, production, distribution to dissemination, improving the quality of works, developing human resources and expanding the market.
In addition, creating a space for exchange, dialogue, and connection between artists, filmmakers, businesses, experts, managers, and the public; strengthening international cooperation and investment promotion; promoting the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a dynamic, creative, friendly, and affectionate city in film production, associated with the important goal of affirming that Ho Chi Minh City has been recognized by UNESCO as a member of the Creative Cities Network (UCCN) in the field of cinema; Creating a prestigious professional forum, raising the status of Ho Chi Minh City cinema, Vietnamese cinema, expanding the audience of cinema, promoting domestic and international cooperation. At the same time, promoting the image of filmmaking from Ho Chi Minh City to not only provinces and cities in the country but also around the world .
Creating connections between other provinces and cities with Ho Chi Minh City; close coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and its agencies; supporting the organization of all key programs as requested, in agreement with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, demonstrating commitment to promoting the development of cinema in Ho Chi Minh City when it becomes a national megacity.
At the same time, it contributes to stimulating culture, tourism and creative industries, supporting industries to promote urban identity; ensuring professional, effective, economical, regulated, secure and safe organization; promoting communication and propaganda, maximizing socialized resources, thereby enhancing the prestige and influence of the Vietnam Film Festival, the position of Ho Chi Minh City Cinema and Vietnamese cinema in the international arena.
The implementation content includes: Press conference of the Film Festival in Ho Chi Minh City; Organizing Workshop 1: "Developing the film industry in the new era"; Organizing Workshop 2: "Current situation and solutions to attract film crews to localities"; Public film screening and exchange between artists and audiences; Music and fashion performances in films; Exhibition "Ho Chi Minh City rises with the country through the perspective of cinema"; Propaganda and promotion of the Film Festival and the Ceremony to announce that Ho Chi Minh City was appointed to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City....
Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requests that the hosting work must ensure the unified leadership and direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; close coordination between central ministries and branches with the City People's Committee, localities, individuals, units,... to attend; fully comply with the laws on cinema and related regulations; and be carried out safely, solemnly, professionally, effectively, economically and transparently.
Deploy, assign, and clearly assign the focal points and responsibilities among departments, branches, sectors, wards, communes, and special zones; ensure technical processes, professional services, as well as ensure security, order, fire prevention and fighting, medical safety, and data security. Communication work unifies the theme, identity, and message of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival - 2025 to convey to the people; at the same time, establish a suitable monitoring and evaluation mechanism to summarize and draw lessons after the 24th Vietnam Film Festival - 2025 ends.
