This activity is part of the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program implemented by Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper to support and empower students from disadvantaged backgrounds, remote areas, border regions, and islands, providing them with better learning conditions.
At the event, the organizers awarded 30 scholarships (1 million VND each) to 30 disadvantaged students, and donated 650 warm jackets to students of Bu Prang Secondary School, Ama Trang Long Primary School, and Le Dinh Chinh Primary School. All three schools are located in Quang Truc commune, a remote, border area of Lam Dong province where the lives of the people are still very difficult.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Truong, Principal of Bu Prang Secondary School, representing the three schools, shared that the school is located in a border commune of Lam Dong province, where many students are poor and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. The meaningful gift from Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, in collaboration with Hue Minh Dang Investment Co., Ltd. and other sponsors, will warm the hearts of these children during the harsh winter in this border region.

Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Tran Van Phong, Head of the Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper's representative office in the Central Highlands and South Central regions, said that over 50 years of formation and development, with the responsibility of a Party newspaper, in addition to its information and propaganda tasks, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper also carries out programs for the community and for the development of society. In particular, the newspaper always pays attention to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
With the desire to encourage, motivate, and create conditions for students to continue striving, overcoming difficulties, and excelling in their studies, in 2023, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper launched the program "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School". Expanding the activities of the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program, Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper continued to launch a meaningful and compassionate activity within the program - called "Warm Clothes to School", aiming to spread the spirit of sharing, love, and support for students in remote and disadvantaged areas.

After more than two years, the "Lighting Up Hope - Overcoming Difficulties to Go to School" program has raised over 32 billion VND and implemented it in 31 schools across 19 provinces and cities nationwide.
