26 Agent Orange victims participate in detoxification sauna program

The Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross recently organized a meeting with a delegation of Agent Orange/dioxin victims before participating in a detoxification and nutrition steam bath treatment at the Vietnam Center for Social Protection for Agent Orange/dioxin Victims.

Leaders of the Provincial Veterans Association and the Provincial Red Cross presented gifts to the delegation.

This program has 26 delegates who are victims of Agent Orange/dioxin living in the province. According to the plan, the delegates will participate in a 21-day detox sauna course to help improve health, restore function and enhance quality of life.

Over the years, the detoxification sauna program for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin has been held annually, becoming an activity of profound humanitarian significance. Every year, the Provincial Red Cross Society proactively reviews and selects cases with difficult circumstances and severe sequelae to prioritize treatment. Preparations are carefully carried out from the list making, information verification to vehicle arrangement and travel support to ensure the most favorable conditions for delegates participating in the program.

The delegation took a souvenir photo with the leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society before leaving for the program.

The program is a practical activity demonstrating the concern of Party committees, authorities, social organizations and the community for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, encouraging their spirit and creating conditions for the victims to rest, take care of their health, and continue to improve in life.
