The Committee for Ethnic Minorities and Religions presented gifts to people in mountainous communes.

Each story is a role model.

Amidst the mountains and forests of A Lưới 2 commune, the clear, cheerful voices of Ta Oi and Pa Co ethnic minority students resound every morning. At Nham Kindergarten, the "Strengthening Vietnamese Language Skills for Ethnic Minority Children" model has become a shining example in the journey of teaching literacy and preserving cultural identity. Here, 100% of the children learn Vietnamese through their mother tongue, engaging in conversations, communicating, and confidently expressing their opinions to their friends and adults.

Those wide, innocent eyes, those hesitant words that gradually become bolder – these are the results of a persistent and dedicated process by the teachers in the highlands. Each song, each story is interwoven with their mother tongue, allowing Vietnamese to reach the children naturally and intimately. A small model, yet possessing great power – opening up equal learning opportunities for children in the remote mountains.

Not only in education, the spirit of innovation in A Luoi 2 is also clearly demonstrated in production and economic development. In Pi Ay 1 village, Mr. Nguyen Hai Teo, a Ta Oi farmer, is affectionately called "Mr. Teo, the successful businessman." With his bio-secure livestock farming model, he built a 500m² barn, raising 10-12 sows and 200-250 fattening pigs; achieving hundreds of millions of dong in revenue each year. In addition, he successfully utilized his garden land to develop fruit orchards, providing a stable income. Based on his experience, he wholeheartedly guides his neighbors on farming techniques, shares his breeding stock, and helps many households escape poverty. "I think that if I know something, I should share it so that everyone can prosper. If anyone asks about techniques, I patiently explain; if anyone lacks breeding stock, I separate herds to support them. When our people escape poverty, the village will be happy," shared young farmer Hai Teo.

Spreading the spirit of innovation

These small but effective models are contributing to the transformation of A Luoi 2 commune – a newly merged locality formed from several central communes, now a shining example in the patriotic emulation movement among ethnic minority communities. To date, A Luoi 2 commune has more than 60 exemplary advanced models in various fields: economic development, cultural preservation, education , security and order, and digital transformation.

Mr. Phan Duy Khanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of A Luoi 2 commune, shared: "We consider identifying, nurturing, and replicating exemplary advanced models as a key task. When every citizen is encouraged to develop initiatives and a spirit of solidarity, the emulation movement will truly go deeper, creating momentum for sustainable development."

Not only in A Luoi 2, the movement to build exemplary advanced models has spread to many other mountainous localities. In A Luoi 5 commune, Giong village is one of the bright spots showing the spread of the movement to build a cultured way of life in the highlands. For many years, the village has considered the formation of a civilized lifestyle and happy families as a central task, closely linked to the new rural development program and local emulation movements.

From village activities to public address systems and social media, the campaign to encourage people to preserve culture, maintain unity, and abide by the law is carried out regularly. The Women's Union, Youth Union, and Farmers' Association play a core role in encouraging members to build cultured families and families that value education. Thanks to this collective effort, the appearance of Giồng village has changed significantly: inter-village roads are concreted, flower-lined paths and green fences cover every alley; "Green Sunday" has become a regular practice; over 90% of households have registered and are expected to achieve the title of Cultured Family in 2025. Self-governing models for the environment and security and order are effective, and the poverty rate has decreased to below 5%.

The models in A Luoi 2, A Luoi 5, and other localities show that the biggest commonality is the self-reliance and creativity of the people and the support of the government. Each model is a story of faith and willpower, the culmination of the patriotic emulation movement from the grassroots level.

Mr. Le Xuan Hai, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, emphasized: “Building and replicating exemplary advanced models is one of the key tasks, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, sustainable poverty reduction, and preserving national cultural identity. We hope that localities will continue to share and learn from each other to progress together.”
