More than 1,500 billion VND to build a boarding school system in Gia Lai border area

The project of inter-level boarding school system in 7 border communes of Gia Lai with a total capital of more than 1,516 billion VND is expected to bring a modern learning environment for more than 7,400 students, most of whom are ethnic minorities.

On the morning of November 16, in Ia Nan commune, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project of a boarding school for primary and secondary levels in 7 border communes, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, leaders of Gia Lai province and a large number of officials, teachers and people in the border area.

The project is implemented in 7 border communes of Gia Lai province including: Ia Mo, Ia Púch, Ia Pnôn, Ia Nan, Ia Dom, Ia Chia, Ia O. The total investment is more than 1,516 billion VND, with a scale of 212 classrooms with about 7,420 students, most of whom are ethnic minority children.

The schools are built synchronously, including: learning areas, dormitories, canteens, teachers' living areas and modern, friendly technical infrastructure systems, fully meeting the teaching and boarding requirements for ethnic minority students in border areas.

At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung emphasized: "The construction of inter-level boarding schools in border communes is a humane policy with long-term strategic significance, contributing to improving the quality of education in remote areas and ethnic minority areas; strengthening national defense and security, and building a solid 'people's hearts' position."

The Deputy Prime Minister requested Gia Lai province to direct the project to be completed on schedule, ensuring quality and safety; prepare a team of teachers, management staff, and an operating plan so that the school can soon become a home of knowledge - a place to nurture the future of children in the border area.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung and Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan presented gifts to policy households, students and teachers in difficult circumstances in 7 border communes.
