Ho Chi Minh City plans 19 old apartment buildings, prepares to call for investment in renovation

On November 17, the Department of Planning and Architecture of Ho Chi Minh City reported to the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the progress and planning orientation for 19 old apartment buildings in the city.

Of which, 9 apartment buildings have been inspected and forced to relocate and demolish but have not been completed as follows:

For apartment building No. 47 Long Hung , Tan Son Nhat ward and apartment building No. 40/1 Tan Phuoc, Tan Hoa ward, in 2022, the Department of Planning and Investment issued a document requesting the People's Committee of Tan Binh district (before the merger) to promptly review and propose local adjustments to the 1/2,000 scale zoning plan as a basis for calling for investment in accordance with the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Apartment building No. 170 - 171 Tan Chau Street, Tan Hoa Ward was converted to educational land to build branch 2 of Tran Van On Primary School.

Apartment building No. 155-157 Bui Vien Street , Ben Thanh Ward, the People's Committee has decided to approve local adjustments to the detailed urban construction planning project at a scale of 1/2,000 (sub-area planning) of the existing central area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City (930ha) in block code S6.

Apartment building No. 11 Vo Van Tan Street, Xuan Hoa Ward, the Department of Construction has issued a document requesting to remove it from the list of renovation, relocation and demolition projects to build a new apartment building built before 1975.

For four apartment buildings including: Truc Giang apartment building, Xom Chieu ward ; Vinh Hoi apartment building (lots A, B, C) , Khanh Hoi ward; Ton That Thuyet old apartment building (lots A, B, C), Khanh Hoi ward; Hoang Dieu old apartment building (lot Y) , Khanh Hoi ward, currently, the Department of Planning and Investment has issued a decision on approving the outline and estimate for local adjustment of the detailed urban construction planning project at a scale of 1/2,000 of the Inter-ward residential area. Currently, the ward People's Committee is the agency organizing the establishment, appraisal and approval according to regulations.

For 10 projects that have not yet had an inspection conclusion, they must be relocated and dismantled, but must carry out new construction and renovation work as follows:

Regarding Ngo Gia Tu apartment complex, Vuon Lai ward has relocated and demolished 1 apartment block and has not relocated or demolished the remaining blocks and proposed to invite investment. Currently, Vuon Lai ward People's Committee is making a detailed plan at a scale of 1/500 according to regulations.

For the remaining 9 apartment complexes, the determination of planning and technical indicators to serve the program of construction, renovation, repair of old apartment buildings, and construction of new apartment buildings to replace old, dangerous, and severely damaged apartment buildings built before 1975 in the city will be considered in the process of establishing related zoning plans.
