"Through" the stormy season

Quang Binh Pickup & SUV Club is a gathering place for people who share the same passion for pickup trucks and off-road sports vehicles. When it was first established, the purpose was for members to share their experiences with vehicles and satisfy their passion for conquering steep mountain passes and majestic lands.

However, in 2019, after a trip with the Tu Bi Hy Xa charity club to transport charity goods to support floods in the border commune of Kim Ngan (Lam Thuy commune, old Le Thuy district), the young men who are passionate about pickup trucks sat down and decided to establish a team of trucks specializing in charity work, supporting the transportation of goods, both to satisfy their passion and to help the community and society.

Mr. Hoang Minh Thanh, Chairman of Quang Binh Pickup & SUV Club, shared: The time the Club was established was also the time when the Covid-19 epidemic broke out. In particular, since July 2020, the Covid-19 epidemic has become tense, Quang Binh Pickup & SUV Club and Tu Bi Hy Xa Charity Club have coordinated to establish the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team - a rapid response team to operate in emergency situations requiring elite troops. During the Covid-19 epidemic, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team has truly become a "combat-ready" army, effectively supporting local authorities and functional forces in fighting the epidemic.

“During the pandemic, our brothers volunteered to drive vehicles to transport relief goods and supplies everywhere, transport patients to quarantine areas or provide support to checkpoints and epidemic areas in Bac Ninh and Da Nang. At that time, for many months, the brothers in the club had to separate from their families to ensure the safety of their loved ones,” Mr. Thanh recalled.

Not only supporting the fight against the epidemic, during the rainy and stormy seasons, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team is always an effective "transporter", always present first in areas of natural disasters and floods. In recent years, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team has been a familiar name in rescue work, sharing difficulties in natural disaster areas. Wherever there are floods, natural disasters, and need for help, there are team members, promptly responding, supporting and sharing with the people.

With many contributions to charity, rescue and relief work, since 2022, Quang Binh Pickup & SUV Club has been admitted and become a collective member of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province. Up to now, the Club has 80 members; the Quang Binh PUN Pickup SUV Team alone has 15 members. This is an elite, vanguard force in the charity activities of Quang Tri youth.

Going through the rainy season

With the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there are youth, wherever there is difficulty, there are youth", over the years, the footprints and wheel tracks of the Quang Binh PUN Pickup SUV Team have left their mark on the most remote and difficult border villages of the province and all over the country.

In particular, in areas affected by natural disasters and floods, the Quang Binh PUN Pickup SUV Team is always one of the first volunteer teams to arrive, coordinating with local authorities to participate in rescue work, giving gifts of encouragement, and sharing hardship with the people.

In 2025, historic floods occurred in many localities across the country such as: Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Hue, Gia Lai, Quang Ngai... During that time, the PUN Pickup Suv Quang Binh Team temporarily put aside their daily work to participate in rescue, relief and give gifts to people in disaster areas.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Tra, Head of the Tu Bi Hy Xa Charity Club - Coordinator of the activities of the Quang Binh PUN Pickup SUV Team, said: Recently, the team has continuously carried out 4 charity trips, participating in rescue work and giving gifts in areas that suffered heavy damage caused by natural disasters.

Accordingly, due to the impact of storm No. 3, at the end of July 2025, flash floods, landslides occurred in many western communes of Nghe An province. In that situation, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team traveled more than 900km, bringing hundreds of gifts, worth more than 100 million VND from benefactors to hand out to people in the villages: Nham, Lau, Mac (Tuong Duong commune).

On October 8, just a few hours after receiving information about the historic flood in Thai Nguyen, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team immediately brought rescue equipment, food, life jackets and set off that night. By 2 a.m. on October 9, the team was present at the flood-prone area of Thai Nguyen, immediately "reported" to the local authorities, and launched a boat to participate in the rescue work.

Next, the team's pickup trucks continued to roll from Quang Tri, carrying more than 7 tons of goods, necessities, and medicine (worth more than 200 million VND) to carry out relief work and share the losses with people in Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, and Bac Ninh provinces.

During the process of carrying out volunteer work to support people in areas of natural disasters, storms and floods and people in remote areas, the PUN-CLB Pickup & SUV Quang Binh Team has been recognized, commended and rewarded by all levels and sectors. Recently, during the flood rescue and relief in Hue City in November 2025, the team received a letter of thanks and a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue City.

On October 27, heavy rains lasted for many days in Hue City and the southern part of Quang Tri Province, causing a historic flood. That very night, the Quang Binh PUN Pickup SUV Team immediately set off again. During the historic flood in Hue, the team promptly responded, provided support and supplies, and brought dozens of people in communes and wards north of the Huong River to safety...

The floodwaters in Hue have just receded, the people are safe, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team continues to cross the river, lowering the boat 3 times to hand deliver 300 gifts (including rice, eggs, banh chung, drinking water... worth 300,000 VND/gift) to the isolated people in Cang area, in the communes of Hai Lang district (old).

In that volunteer journey, the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team is proud to have contributed to the warm fire of solidarity, spreading love and solidarity, helping people in flood-affected areas overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

“Not only this year but in the following years, wherever people need us, we will be there!”. That affirmation by Mr. Phan Tu Hai, Captain of the PUN Pickup SUV Quang Binh Team not only speaks of the dedication but also demonstrates the responsibility of the whole team in their volunteer journey.
