In recent years, under the attention of the Party, the State and the efforts of the health sector, the work of caring for and protecting people's health has achieved many positive results, making important contributions to the socio-economic development of the country.
The health system has been gradually consolidated and developed towards fairness, quality, efficiency and sustainability. The quality of medical examination and treatment has been significantly improved. Many central and local hospitals have mastered modern medical techniques, successfully applying many advanced technologies in diagnosis and treatment. Disease prevention work has been vigorously implemented, thanks to which many dangerous epidemics have been well controlled, ensuring public health safety.
However, in addition to the achievements, health care still has limitations, especially at the grassroots level and in the field of preventive medicine. These are important "pillars" in the health system, but there is still a lack of human resources, facilities and equipment, affecting the primary health care for the people.
In the draft Political Report submitted to the 14th Party Congress, the direction and tasks for the next term also stated that the focus will be on "building a fair, high-quality, effective, and sustainable healthcare system; focusing on improving the quality and skills in disease prevention, examination and treatment, and good disease control..."
To do that, in the coming time, the Party and State will continue to prioritize the goal of taking care of people's health, considering it the focus of all development strategies. In particular, priority will be given to investment in primary health care and preventive medicine, because this is the front line in protecting people's health, an effective "shield" against the risk of epidemics. Improve the quality of health human resources, promote digital transformation, expand the national health care network, ensure that all people have access to basic health services, and receive free periodic health check-ups at least once a year...
