The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested heads of departments, branches, city units, Chairmen of People's Committees of wards, communes, and special zones to focus on implementing prevention and response measures when storm No. 13 affects the Ho Chi Minh City area; prepare detailed plans to mobilize materials, means, and forces to respond to the effects of the storm, especially thunderstorms, tornadoes, landslides, and flooding caused by heavy rain combined with high tides.
At the same time, organize a serious 24/7 on-duty team to grasp the situation, anticipate the worst possible situations to respond promptly; inform the on-duty phone number, assign on-duty forces, and be ready to support and help people when facing difficulties.
The People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones shall organize inspections and identify dangerous areas and vulnerable areas at risk of being affected by storms, heavy rains, landslides, thunderstorms, tornadoes and floods to prevent, respond and overcome consequences in a timely manner. Coastal wards, communes, island communes and Con Dao special zone shall implement plans to ensure safety for people and boats operating on rivers, at sea, in seaport waters and coordinate search and rescue work.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested to review plans to ensure the safety of irrigation works, dykes, reservoirs, especially those under construction. Prepare forces, means, materials, and equipment to promptly handle key construction sites; effectively operate reservoirs, spillways, tide control sluices, and pumping stations. At the same time, arrange mobile water pumps to promptly overcome flooding caused by high tides and heavy rains caused by storms.
The Ho Chi Minh City Command, Ho Chi Minh City Police, and the Youth Volunteer Force prepare forces, arrange officers and soldiers, and are ready to mobilize vehicles and equipment to respond and search and rescue in case of emergency.
The Department of Construction is requested to direct the implementation of measures to trim trees, minimizing the risk of trees falling and causing accidents when there are storms and heavy rains due to the impact of storms. The City Green Parks and Trees One Member Co., Ltd. is requested to promptly handle incidents of trees falling due to the impact of storms.
