Since late October, the entire mountain slopes of Luc Hon commune in the highlands of Quang Ninh have been aglow with the golden color of ripe rice. Terraced fields stretch from the mountain tops down to the valleys, like warm waves of color.

The villages of Khe O, Cao Thang, and Ngan Pat are home to many terraced rice fields with the most beautiful scenery in the area, creating a spectacular natural landscape crafted by the labor of the San Chi, Dao, and Tay people. The terraced rice fields in Luc Hon commune are also a provincial-level scenic site of Quang Ninh.

This year, in the ripe rice season, Luc Hon commune continues to organize the Golden Season Festival right when the rice begins to ripen. Following the success of the Golden Season Festivals organized by Binh Lieu district (old), the Festival increasingly attracts a large number of tourists from all over to come here to admire and participate in attractive cultural activities.

The Golden Harvest Festival of Luc Hon opens on October 25th and will last throughout November, with the peak ripening season being in mid-November. Visitors can not only admire the unique natural beauty of the Quang Ninh highlands but also experience the joy of harvesting with the local ethnic communities in the golden rice fields.

“Flying over the Golden Season” with paragliding is also an attractive activity of the festival. Besides, there is the experience of “Living with the village, eating with the people, working with the same profession”, visiting and experiencing the Tay ethnic village and sports activities in the commune...

Tourists with a passion for exploration can conquer Cao Xiem mountain peak - known as the "roof of Quang Ninh" with an altitude of 1,429m.

One of the most special activities on this occasion is the New Rice Celebration, a traditional ceremony at Luc Na communal house to honor the achievements after hard working days, expressing the wish for a prosperous and happy life of the people of Luc Hon commune.

Tourists were excited to learn about and enjoy traditional local dishes at the New Rice Festival. 29 teams from villages of Luc Hon commune brought many typical dishes such as sticky rice cooked with ginger leaf water, black banh chung, banh day, local chicken, khau nhuc, sour fish, etc.

Also from the beginning of November, the border patrol route in Hoanh Mo and Luc Hon communes has become a white reed road. The hills covered in purple, yellow, and green reeds make the border scenery more romantic and poetic.

Tourists from all over come to check-in spots with vast fields of reed grass, especially the border markers 1305 and 1297 (Lang Son territory) to admire the white reeds and proudly show off the colors of the flag next to the sacred sovereignty markers of the Fatherland.

Reed flowers will continue to bloom until early December, a suitable time for tourists to explore the majestic beauty of the northeastern border.

Along with the Golden Season Festival, many cultural and sports events will be organized by the highland communes of Quang Ninh, building the movement "Each person is a tour guide", creating unique and distinctive cultural tourism products for the locality in the autumn and winter.
