The Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh has directed strongly to strengthen management and ensure the quality of meals for students in the whole province. Right from the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the Department has issued many guiding documents, requiring education departments and school units to strictly implement the provisions of the law on food hygiene and safety, considering this a key and regular task in school management.

The leaders of the Department of Education and Training emphasized the responsibility of heads of educational institutions in organizing, inspecting and supervising the entire process from selecting suppliers, preserving, processing to distributing meals to students. Schools must sign clear contracts with suppliers, ensure clear food origins, have quarantine certificates and keep samples according to regulations. At the same time, the Department of Education and Training also closely coordinates with the Department of Health and local authorities to organize regular and surprise inspections and strictly handle violations.
In addition, the department's leaders requested schools to step up propaganda and raise awareness among staff, teachers, catering staff and parents of the importance of ensuring food safety. Many models of "one-way kitchens" and "green - clean - safe kitchens" have been widely deployed, contributing to creating a healthy, friendly and safe learning environment for students.
In the 2025-2026 school year, the number of boarding students of Vu Oai Primary and Secondary School (Thong Nhat Commune) after the merger is 240 students. The school uses the form of boarding organization by contracting with a food supply company.

Ms. Hoang Thi Hai Yen, the school principal, said: The school always identifies food safety in school meals as a key task, directly related to the health and trust of parents and students. Therefore, we only select meal providers with full food safety certificates, clear food origins, transparent contracts, and regularly coordinate with the Parents' Representative Committee to inspect and supervise the process of importing - processing - storing food samples to ensure that each student's meal is safe, healthy, and creates a trustworthy educational environment.
At Hong Gai Kindergarten (Hong Gai Ward), there are currently 1,740 boarding students after restructuring the educational facilities. With a large scale, the school always identifies the organization of meals for children as the top priority, contributing to ensuring the health and comprehensive development of the children. The school organizes self-cooking in a centralized kitchen, strictly following regulations on food safety and hygiene (FSH). From the stage of selecting fresh food sources with clear origins, to the process of processing, dividing portions and preserving, every stage is strictly controlled. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel utensils, dividing raw and cooked food into separate areas, ensuring a clean and scientific environment. Not only focusing on children's meals, the school also organizes periodic health check-ups for the kitchen staff, to ensure the health of those directly preparing food, while raising their awareness and responsibility in their work.
Along with that, internal inspection, daily menu monitoring and food sample storage are carried out seriously. Thanks to the methodical, synchronous and responsible way of doing things, Hong Gai Kindergarten has built a solid trust from parents, becoming a bright spot in organizing safe, nutritious and quality boarding meals in the area.
