According to information from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Japanese Government on November 3 announced the list of individuals awarded the Medal in the fall of 2025.
According to this list, among those awarded this time, there are 3 Vietnamese individuals honored for their great contributions to strengthening cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and Japan.
Specifically, former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh (85 years old) was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Rising Sun, first class, in recognition of the former General Secretary's contributions to strengthening the close relationship and friendship between Japan and Vietnam.
Former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung (76 years old) was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Rising Sun, first class, in recognition of his contributions to strengthening relations and close friendship between Japan and Vietnam.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh, former President of the Association of Vietnamese Alumni in Japan, former Principal of CMC University (66 years old), was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun with a golden ray and rosette. Mr. Binh has made contributions to promoting close friendship, academic exchange and enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries.
The Japanese Embassy in Vietnam stated that the individuals were awarded medals on this occasion "based on their great contributions to the development of Vietnam-Japan relations."
The Japanese Government's awarding of noble medals to outstanding Vietnamese individuals not only demonstrates recognition of individual contributions but also vividly symbolizes the friendly, trustworthy, and profound cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan over the past decades.
