On November 4, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced the 2026 Asian University Rankings . Vietnam has 25 universities on the list this time, an increase of 8 schools compared to the previous ranking.
These names are Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Foreign Trade University, Vietnam National University of Agriculture , Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Phenikaa University, University of Water Resources, University of Commerce, Banking Academy.
Hanoi National University ranked highest at 158, up from last year. Following was Duy Tan University at 165, down 38 places from last year. Also in the top 200 was Ho Chi Minh City National University, ranked 175.

In terms of region, China leads with the largest number of universities in the top 10 with 8 universities, including: University of Hong Kong (ranked 1st), Peking University (ranked 2nd), Fudan University (ranked 5th), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (ranked 6th), City University of Hong Kong (ranked 7th), Chinese University of Hong Kong (ranked 8th), Tsinghua University (ranked 9th), Hong Kong Polytechnic University (ranked 10th).
Singapore has two schools in the top 10, including Nanyang Technological University (ranked 3rd) and National University of Singapore (ranked 4th).
The QS Asia University Rankings 2026 includes more than 1,500 universities from 29 countries and territories. The criteria used for evaluation include: Academic reputation, citation index per article, faculty/student ratio, international research network, internationality... with a ratio of 5-30%, of which the highest is academic reputation.
