Production at Bac Bang Danh mine - with Ha Tu Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin
A representative of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) said: It is forecasted that in November, the international economic and political situation will continue to fluctuate, alumina prices will tend to decrease, while coal consumption is expected to be difficult. In that context, TKV aims to continue to adhere to the operating plan, maintain stable production and promote product consumption.
Stabilize production, promote product consumption
Accordingly, TKV's November production plan will exploit 3.35 million tons of coal, produce 3.75 million tons and consume 4.7 million tons. The Group will also produce 113 thousand tons of aluminum, consume 109 thousand tons; 4 thousand tons of copper concentrate and consume 2.5 thousand tons... The Group's consolidated revenue is expected to reach 16.1 thousand billion VND.
To complete the target for November as well as the fourth quarter and the whole year of 2025, TKV has directed units to increase the application of technology, digital transformation in production and consumption management, focus on human resources and equipment to maximize mining output, while ensuring safety, security and environment, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
"With the spirit of proactiveness - innovation - flexibility, TKV is determined to comprehensively complete the 2025 production and business plan, continuing to affirm its pivotal role in ensuring energy security and sustainable development of Vietnam's mining industry," said a TKV representative.
In October, despite being heavily affected by the circulation of storm No. 11 (MATMO) with heavy rains, causing flooding in many mining areas, the Group still maintained stable production and consumption of coal and key mineral products. By synchronously and flexibly implementing operational solutions, TKV has basically completed the targets for October 2025, ensuring jobs and income for workers and maintaining growth momentum in the context of many market difficulties.

Workers' income is guaranteed, average salary reaches 18.1 million VND/person/month
Coal mining exceeded the plan by 2.9%.
Accordingly, TKV's coal mining output in October is estimated at 3 million tons, exceeding the plan by 2.9%, bringing the total output in 10 months to 32.5 million tons, up 5.7% over the same period. Clean coal production reached 3.3 million tons, cumulatively 32.2 million tons, exceeding the same period by 3.8%. Although storms caused difficulties in transportation, coal consumption in October still reached 3 million tons, bringing the total consumption in 10 months to 36.7 million tons.
In the context of reduced coal consumption for electricity production due to cool weather and prolonged rain, TKV has flexibly regulated coal sources, focused on improving quality and variety structure to suit market demand, contributing to maintaining the efficiency of production and business activities.
Along with that, the copper, aluminum and electricity production sectors continued to be the bright spots in TKV's October operations. Thanks to taking advantage of the opportunity when aluminum prices remained favorable, TKV's aluminum output in October reached 120 thousand tons, exceeding the plan by 4.7%; consumption reached 163.3 thousand tons, exceeding the plan by 22.4%. In the first 10 months, TKV produced and consumed 1.2 million tons of aluminum, an increase of over 3% over the same period. The output of exploited bauxite ore reached 580 thousand tons, bringing the total in 10 months to 6.4 million tons, equal to 108.4% of the same period. This shows the efficiency in the aluminum mining - processing chain in the Central Highlands region.
In the field of copper production, TKV continues to maintain stable and effective production. In October, TKV exploited 6.2 thousand tons of copper concentrate, exceeding the plan by 14.1%, copper plate production reached 2.7 thousand tons, exceeding the plan by 5.6%. In the first 10 months, copper plate output reached 26.4 thousand tons, up 5% over the same period and consumption reached 25.1 thousand tons, up 3.7% over the same period.
TKV's electricity production output in October also reached 572 million kWh, bringing the total for 10 months to 8.2 billion kWh, equal to 106.5% of the same period, contributing to ensuring stable electricity supply for the national system and increasing the efficiency of exploiting domestic energy sources.
Thanks to stable production, the Group's total revenue in October reached about 12.3 trillion VND, bringing the total revenue for 10 months to 136 trillion VND, equal to 100% compared to the same period. TKV paid 1.3 trillion VND to the state budget in October, with a cumulative total of 20.9 trillion VND. Workers' income was guaranteed, with an average salary of 18.1 million VND/person/month, up 6.4% compared to the plan, while safety - security - environment work was maintained.
