Hue City: Soldiers and militia urgently fix dike breach caused by flood

(Chinhphu.vn) - Due to the impact of rain and floods, the dike connecting Niem Pho village, Quang Dien commune to Nho Lam village, Dan Dien commune (Hue city) was washed away, causing traffic disruption and seriously affecting people's lives and activities.

Faced with the above situation, on November 4, the Hue City Military Command urgently mobilized regular troops and militia to be present at the scene, quickly resolved the dike breach and helped local people clean up mud and the environment after the flood.

The dike section connecting Niem Pho village, Quang Dien commune to Nho Lam village, Dan Dien commune is an important dike, serving as a water barrier and a traffic route. Heavy rain and strong floodwaters caused a section of the dike to collapse, leaving a wide gap at the bottom, completely cutting off traffic.

After the incident, the Hue City Military Command directed the Defense Command of Area 1 - Huong Tra and the Quang Dien Commune Military Command to quickly mobilize forces to set up barriers, put up warning signs, and deploy remedial measures. Today, the forces used large boulders and stone baskets to "patch the dike", preventing the dike from eroding further.

Present at the scene, Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh requested the locality to mobilize maximum human and material resources to overcome the incident, to soon clear the route to serve people's travel, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.

Also today, the Hue City Military Command mobilized nearly 50 officers and soldiers of the Defense Command of Area 2 - A Luoi, the Hong Van Border Guard Station and the Military Command of A Luoi 1 Commune to urgently overcome 3 landslides that caused traffic congestion on the road to Par Ay village, A Luoi 1 Commune.

Despite unfavorable weather conditions and a large amount of work, after nearly a day of enthusiastic and responsible work, the military and militia forces completed the route, ensuring convenient travel for people.

On the same day, the Long Quang Commune Military Command mobilized more than 10 militia soldiers to quickly use chainsaws and push poles to cut trees and push away the garbage accumulated at the bridge in village 6, Long Quang Commune, Hue City to ensure safety at the foot of the bridge.

Currently, in localities of Hue city, the water has begun to recede. The armed forces have mobilized thousands of officers, soldiers, and militia to urgently support schools and localities in the city to clean up mud and sanitize the environment after the flood.
