Continue to review and complete preparations for the Week of "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" and the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025

On the afternoon of November 4, in Hanoi, the Organizing Committee of the "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week and the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 held a meeting to review preparations for activities in the series of events. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy, Head of the Organizing Committee, chaired the meeting.

Reporting at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Tran Manh Hung said that up to now, the basic preparation work has been completed. The Department has closely coordinated with relevant units in developing the program script, arranging the space for organizing activities, preparing the artisans, extras and agreeing on the plan to promote and advertise the event. Reception, logistics, security, order, environmental sanitation, etc. have also been carefully reviewed.

According to the plan, the "Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week in 2025 is expected to take place from November 18 to 23, 2025 at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village with many rich activities such as: Opening program with the participation of more than 1,000 people, including groups of artisans and people of 16 ethnic groups who are working daily with people and mass actors from localities attending the Festival; Mass art festival; Costume performance; Performance and introduction of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals of the Muong ethnic group; Exhibition to introduce and promote traditional culture of the Muong ethnic group in localities; Performance and introduction of traditional handicrafts of the Muong ethnic group; Scientific seminar on "Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development"; Program to promote and introduce Vietnamese culture to international friends at the "Common House"; National Great Unity Day at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village; Cultural colors of festivals; performance, exchange, and introduction of ethnic cultures.

Representatives of units and localities participated in contributing opinions at the meeting.

The 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 will be held on a scale including the provinces and cities: Hanoi, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La and Thanh Hoa. The duration is 03 days, from November 21 to November 23, 2025, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism . The theme of this year's Festival is "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the new era". Within the framework of the Festival, there will be many special activities such as: Exhibition, introduction and promotion of traditional culture of the local Muong ethnic group; Performance and introduction of traditional handicrafts of the Muong ethnic group; Mass art festival; Performance of Muong ethnic costumes; Performance and introduction of excerpts of festivals and traditional cultural rituals of the Muong ethnic group. Along with that are the welcoming activities including: Photo exhibition "Muong ethnic people accompany the development of the country"; Thematic exhibition "Characteristics of Muong ethnic culture in the cultural community of Vietnamese ethnic groups".

In addition, at the center of Hanoi Capital, there will be a parade of Muong ethnic cultural performance art around Hoan Kiem Lake and a public performance, introducing and promoting traditional Muong ethnic culture and art.

At the meeting, representatives of localities participating in the event, including Hanoi, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La and Thanh Hoa, discussed and contributed ideas on the preparation work, overall stage design, exhibition space, activity schedule, etc. Localities said that, to date, they have basically completed the construction of participation plans, featured art programs and performances reflecting the unique beauty of traditional culture. Along with that, carefully prepare the exhibition space, introduce handicraft products, cuisine and tourism images, ready to participate in exchange activities and performances within the framework of the event.

Overview of the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that the National Great Unity Week - Vietnam Cultural Heritage is an activity of profound political, cultural and social significance, aiming to honor the strength of the great national unity bloc, arouse pride, awareness of preserving and promoting the value of national cultural heritage. This is not only an opportunity to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam but also an opportunity for localities to exchange, learn and spread good traditional cultural values, contributing to strengthening the spiritual foundation of society, serving the sustainable development of the country.

The Deputy Minister welcomed and appreciated the thorough preparation and positive response of the localities. At the same time, he requested units and localities to continue reviewing and completing the contents according to the set plan, ensuring progress and quality, focusing on building specific coordination contents, especially for the participation of artisans' groups in the events. "Activities need to be organized practically and effectively, imbued with national cultural identity, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, humanity and creativity of the Vietnamese people. Thereby, contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to the world, affirming the role of culture in sustainable development and international integration", the Deputy Minister emphasized./.
