Establishment of the World Heritage Management Board of Ha Long Bay

The Ha Long - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board is under the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, on the basis of reorganizing the Ha Long Bay Management Board, the Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board under the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province and the Monuments and Landscapes Management Board under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province.

The Ha Long - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board is a public service unit under the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, with the function of advising the People's Committee of the province in managing, protecting, preserving, conducting scientific research, restoring, embellishing, rehabilitating and promoting, exploiting the values of natural landscape, culture, history, geology, geomorphology, biodiversity; organizing tourism and service activities in the area of the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay, the World Cultural Heritage Complex of Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac relics and landscapes in Quang Ninh province (including the Complex of special relics and landscapes of Yen Tu, the special relic site of the Tran Dynasty, the cluster of special national historical relics Bach Dang) and Bai Tu Long National Park - ASEAN Heritage Park.

The Ha Long Bay - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board has legal status, its own seal and account, and operates in accordance with the provisions of law; is under the direction, management, and organization of activities of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, and is also under the direction, guidance, and inspection of the expertise and profession of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, and relevant agencies.

The Ha Long - Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board has a Head and Deputy Head (the number of Deputy Heads is implemented according to the provisions of law); including 10 specialized and professional departments and equivalent: Office; Finance Department; Department of Professional Affairs and Heritage Restoration and Embellishment; Communications and International Cooperation Department; Center for Monitoring, Safety and Rescue; Tourism Service Center; Ha Long Bay 1 Conservation Center; Ha Long Bay Conservation Center; Bai Tu Long National Park Conservation Center and Yen Tu Heritage Conservation Center.
