On the evening of November 3, at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace, the Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi jointly organized the program "Joining hands for the poor" and social security of Hanoi in 2025.

The program was organized to celebrate the success of the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 95th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025).
This is a practical activity responding to the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" for the 2021-2025 period launched by the Prime Minister .

Practical action, creating effective social support

Speaking at the program, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Bui Huyen Mai affirmed that with the consistent viewpoint of "taking people as the center", Hanoi always identifies social security development and welfare improvement as the foundation for sustainable development.
In particular, implementing Program No. 08-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the 17th Hanoi Party Committee on "Developing the social security system, improving social welfare and quality of life of the people of the Capital in the period of 2021 - 2025", the city has achieved many outstanding results.
Hanoi has no more poor households according to multidimensional standards, has completed the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, expanded health insurance coverage, and raised the Human Development Index (HDI) to the highest level in the country. Hanoi is the first locality in the country to support boarding meals for primary school students from the 2025-2026 school year, with a total budget of more than 3,000 billion VND/year, demonstrating deep concern for future generations.

In particular, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city has promoted its role in connecting sources of solidarity, calling for and effectively allocating socialized resources, supporting the construction and repair of houses and practical means of livelihood for poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances to rise up in labor and production and escape poverty.
The city's "For the Poor" Fund received more than 93 billion VND
The above results not only affirm the effectiveness of the social security policy, but also deeply demonstrate the spirit of humanity, solidarity, and affection for a prosperous and happy life for all people in the capital. Ensuring social security and improving social welfare have become bright spots in the 2021-2025 period, marking the journey of building and developing the capital.
Upholding the spirit of Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country, responding to the emulation movement of the whole country joining hands to "eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" in 2025 launched by the Prime Minister, in 2024 and 2025, Hanoi city actively contributed resources, joined hands with localities to reach the finish line ahead of schedule, completing the elimination of more than 334 thousand temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.


Promoting the tradition of solidarity and mutual love, in the face of heavy losses in human lives and property caused by storms No. 10 (Bualoi) and No. 11 (Matmo), implementing the direction of the Hanoi Party Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city has allocated 145 billion VND from the city's relief fund to send to the relief funds of 17 provinces and cities and supported more than 10 billion VND for communes in Hanoi, promptly contributing to overcoming the consequences caused by floods, soon restoring production and stabilizing people's lives.
The City People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City respectfully commend, acknowledge and highly appreciate the spirit of responsibility, sharing and noble gestures of agencies, units, organizations, businesses and philanthropists who have actively contributed to the Fund for the Poor, creating resources with the city government to sustainably reduce poverty, ensure social security and improve social welfare.

Continuing the achievements of the peak month "For the poor" and social security in 2024, the program "Joining hands for the poor and social security in Hanoi city in 2025" was organized to connect hearts and share love, continue to contribute and join hands so that the city has more resources to care for and support near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances to have conditions to strive to rise up.
Up to now, the City Fund for the Poor and Social Security has received and registered to donate more than 93 billion VND from agencies, units, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists.
On the occasion of the peak month "For the poor" and social security in 2025, the City People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi city calls on agencies, organizations, businesses, and people of all walks of life in the capital to promote the tradition of solidarity and the good spirit of "Mutual love and mutual assistance" of the nation, actively participate in supporting the city's "For the poor" Fund, join hands to build a civilized, modern, happy capital, leaving no one behind.
At the Program, the City's "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee allocated the Fund to support the construction of Great Unity houses, purchase breeding cows, electric motorbikes, and industrial sewing machines for near-poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances with a total support amount of 9 billion 690 million VND.

To recognize positive contributions, the program honored outstanding collectives and units in poverty reduction and social security work. Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh awarded Certificates of Merit to 20 outstanding collectives with outstanding achievements in mobilizing and supporting people affected by storms and floods in 2025.
