Hue still has over 15,000 flooded houses, people face many difficulties

The family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Khe, Hamlet 18, Phu Khe Residential Group, Duong No Ward ( Hue ), is in especially difficult circumstances and is still flooded.

On the afternoon of November 4, in Hue city, flood on Huong River at Kim Long and Bo River at Phu Oc fluctuated at level 3 below alert level 3 from 0.5 - 0.6m.

It is forecasted that in the coming hours, floods on these two rivers will remain above alert level 2.

By the afternoon of the same day, the entire city of Hue had more than 15,000 houses flooded with a depth of 0.3 - 0.7m. Some localities were heavily affected such as the communes and wards of Quang Dien, Phong Dinh, Hoa Chau, Thanh Thuy, Phu Ho...

Hue City Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that from November 6 to 8, the city will have moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain; total rainfall for the period will be 150-300mm, and in some places over 500mm.

On November 4, forces including the army, police, mass organizations and people of Hue city urgently overcame the consequences of flooding.

People in Hue are still suffering from deep flooding and preparing for a new flood.

Hue Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company increased its forces and means of environmental cleaning; focusing on collecting large amounts of waste swept away by floods and clearing mud on the roads.

Hue City Green Park Center increases forces and means to inspect and clean the environment in the park system and reinforce the green tree system.

Soldiers, police and teachers simultaneously cleaned schools in the countries that had withdrawn to welcome students back to school soon.

Hue City Department of Construction is mobilizing all forces, vehicles, and materials to urgently fix and repair damaged landslide areas to ensure smooth and safe traffic as soon as possible.

Authorities at all levels and organizations continue to visit and encourage families affected by floods, especially policy households, poor households, single-parent households, and those in difficult circumstances; provide timely support with food, drinking water, medicine and essential necessities for people in affected areas.
