The studio was silent before the 79-year-old An Giang woman who still makes brooms for hire to support her sick children and grandchildren.
Nguyen Quoc Thai (born in 2010), a 9th grade student at Giuc Tuong Secondary School, Chau Thanh Commune, An Giang Province, is a case that touched many viewers because of his extremely difficult circumstances. His mother left when Thai was just over 5 months old, and he grew up in the arms of his grandmother - Mrs. Dang Hong Hanh (born in 1946) and his father, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hung (born in 1978).
The incident happened a year ago when Mr. Hung suffered a stroke and fell into a state of near-vegetation. He can only understand, cannot talk or do anything on his own, and has to use a wheelchair all the time. Since then, all the burden has fallen on the thin shoulders of his nearly 80-year-old mother.

Mrs. Hanh works as a broom binder, but because she has to take care of her son, she can only make one broom a day, selling it for 30,000 - 35,000 VND. All the expenses for medicine, food and living expenses of the three people depend on that small amount of money and the help of neighbors.
Despite her old age and poor health, she still tries to do whatever she can, such as collecting scrap metal and drying rice to sell for money to buy food. She only hopes to have some capital to raise a few chickens and ducks in the backyard to improve her life.

Quoc Thai travels to school every day on an old bicycle that is more than 5 years old. Even though the saddle is torn and the wheels are often broken, he still takes good care of it because it is his most precious possession. After school, Thai helps his grandmother cook, catch crabs and snails, takes care of his father, helps his father learn to walk, and tries to share some of the burden with his grandmother.
Family meals are often simple, sometimes just white porridge with a little MSG. Despite the absence of his mother's love, Quoc Thai is always obedient, polite, studious and understanding. He once wished to see his mother once, but never complained, only sad because he has not felt maternal love. Now, what he wishes most is for his father to recover soon and for his grandmother to always be healthy so that the family will suffer less.
MC Dai Nghia could not hide his emotions when listening to the story. He felt sorry for the image of his nearly 80-year-old grandmother who was still the pillar of the family, and at the same time expressed his admiration for Quoc Thai's determination and filial piety.

Actress Le Ha Anh burst into tears, hugging Mrs. Hanh out of sympathy for the sacrifice and resilience of the nearly 80-year-old woman. “You worked so hard to raise your children and grandchildren. You are so great. I love you so much ,” she choked up, continuously wiping away tears and encouraging her to take care of her health to continue to be a spiritual support for Quoc Thai and his father.
A 9th grade girl starved herself and saved 10,000 VND every day to help her mother, making many people heartbroken.
Bach Nguyen Bich Tran (born in 2011), is currently a 9th grade student at Thuan An Secondary School, Long My Ward, Can Tho City. Her father died of a brain hemorrhage when Tran was only 5 years old. She currently lives with her mother - Nguyen Thi Kim Chung (born in 1983) and her younger brother Bach Nguyen Huu Tri (born in 2016).
Ms. Chung was born with a hunchback, making it difficult for her to walk. She used to earn a living by selling lottery tickets, but due to a serious illness, she had to quit. She now works as a housekeeper, earning about 5 million VND per month, working from 6am to 5pm, with no days off. Due to poor health, she often has aches and pains and has to take medicine every day. When the weather changes, the back pain makes her lose sleep, so she has to prop up a pillow to lie down.

Bich Tran always misses her father even though he has been gone for many years. Every time she mentions him, she bursts into tears. Her dream is to become a lawyer, but her biggest worry is that her mother does not have enough money to support her in her studies. As for Huu Tri, he is more disadvantaged because he has never known his father's love, because he passed away before he was born. His family's financial difficulties forced him to take a year off school to help his mother.
Every day, Bich Tran's mother only gives her 10,000 VND to go to school. She often skips breakfast to save money, just in case. Tran wishes she had new clothes because her mother hasn't had the money to buy them for her and her sister for a long time. Feeling sorry for her mother's hard work, she doesn't dare ask for anything, just tries to study well to take care of her family in the future.
The meals of the three of them were often very frugal, often just boiled okra with soy sauce. Sometimes, the mother would bring home leftovers from work. The family lived in an old, dilapidated house with a leaky tin roof and two walls leaning against the neighbor's house. Chung still went to work on her husband's old motorbike.
Faced with Bich Tran's situation, MC Dai Nghia could not contain his emotions and hugged the two sisters. He choked up and said: "At this age, Tran should be carefree and playing with her friends. But she has to worry about growing up quickly to help her mother. The saying 'I'm afraid that when I succeed, my mother will no longer be here' makes me really sad."

The male MC was particularly moved when hearing Bich Tran say “I’m used to it” when asked why she always went to school hungry – a statement that left him and the guests speechless. Actress Le Ha Anh burst into tears, expressing her admiration for the small but strong-willed mother. “She has too much on her shoulders, raising two children alone while she is sick, it really makes me feel sorry for her ,” she said.
Thuy Anh, the wife of singer Dang Khoi, could not hold back her tears. She shared: “I think that no matter how hard I work, as long as my children have a delicious meal, I am happy. But looking at the two small, skinny children and their mother working so hard, I really feel sorry for them.”
After watching the clip introducing the character's background, singer Dang Khoi was choked with emotion. He said that as a father, he deeply felt the loss of his family when there was no longer a breadwinner. At the same time, he expressed his admiration for Bich Tran's filial piety and determination to succeed.
