Searching for a fishing boat in distress at sea

According to initial information, at 11:00 a.m. on November 4, the Ha Tinh Border Guard Command received a report from the fishing vessel management agency in Thanh Hoa province, requesting support to rescue fishing vessel registration number TH 90701 TS, capacity 500CV, captained by Mr. Le PT (born in 1989, hometown Hoang Tien commune, Thanh Hoa province), engaged in offshore fishing, with 10 people on board.

Previously, on October 29, this fishing boat departed from the fishing port in Hau Loc commune (Thanh Hoa province) to catch seafood. On the way to Lach Quen fishing port ( Nghe An province), when reaching the coordinates 18.26 degrees North latitude - 106.59 degrees East longitude, it encountered the influence of the Northeast monsoon and big waves, causing the fishing boat to break its propeller shaft and drift at sea.

Through checking the GPS positioning system, at the time of the incident, fishing boat TH 90701 TS was about 38.6 nautical miles East Southeast of Vung Ang - Son Duong port (Ha Tinh province).

Immediately after receiving the news, the Ha Tinh Border Guard Command proactively notified the authorities of Vung Ang ward and functional forces at Vung Ang - Son Duong Port such as: Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority, the port's tugboat department, Lao - Viet International Port Joint Stock Company... to proactively respond promptly.

However, due to the influence of the Northeast monsoon, the sea area of Ha Tinh province still has winds of level 6, gusting to level 7. Currently, tugboats and ships of units at Vung Ang - Son Duong port have not been able to come to support the rescue of fishing boat TH 90701 TS.

The Ha Tinh Border Guard Command continues to coordinate with the Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority, functional forces and the captain of the TH 90701 TS ship to update and report on the situation of fishing vessels and the health of crew members.

On the morning of November 5, a leader of the Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority informed that since November 4, this unit has also notified all vessels operating in the waters of Vung Ang - Son Duong, Ha Tinh and those moving through the area to increase vigilance and pay attention to supporting the rescue of the fishing boat TH 90701 TS in distress. However, up to now, there has been no information about this fishing boat.
