Chairman owning 9,000 billion VND will be recognized as a professor in 2025

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang has just been announced by the State Council of Professors to be recognized as a professor in 2025. He is one of three people who have met the standards of a professor in the field of Mechanics - Dynamics and is among 71 people who have met the standards of a professor this year.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang was born in 1964 in Yen Thang commune, Y Yen district, Nam Dinh province (old). He graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, majoring in Internal Combustion Engines in May 1986 and defended his doctorate in Mechanical Engineering - Dynamics at this school in 1992. In 2022, he was recognized as an associate professor.

Mr. Nang is currently a lecturer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phenikaa University; previously, he held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of Phenikaa Institute of Research and Technology. In his application, he stated that he had 18 years and 3 months of experience in undergraduate and graduate training.

Regarding scientific achievements, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang has guided 3 PhD students to successfully defend their theses, is guiding 5 other PhD students, and is also guiding many graduate students. He has presided over 1 national-level project, 1 ministerial-level project, 2 state-level branch projects, 3 grassroots-level projects, and 1 key grassroots project. He is currently presiding over 1 national-level project.

As of June 30, 2025, he has published 109 scientific works, including 55 articles in prestigious international journals and 14 conference reports in the Scopus category. After being recognized as an associate professor, he was the main author of 22 international articles.

The chairman owns a series of exclusive patents.

Mr. Ho Xuan Nang has been granted 14 patents and 5 utility solutions, of which 12 are the main author. Many projects have been transferred and commercialized; 2 patents have been applied in large-scale industrial production, 4 other patents have been commercialized into actual products.

He has also published 8 specialized books in prestigious publishing houses. His research works are considered to have high practical value, associated with innovation and industrialization.

In the field of education , he self-assesses that he "always adheres to the goals and content of the training program according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, helping learners develop creative thinking and self-research ability". He believes that a teacher must constantly learn and practice to not fall behind the progress of science and technology.

“I am always passionate about my profession, maintain my teaching ethics and constantly innovate my teaching methods,” he wrote in his application.

Not only a scientist, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang is also a famous businessman in the field of high-end construction materials. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Phuong Hoang Xanh A&A Group, Director of Vinaconex High-end Stone Joint Stock Company, General Director of Vicostone Joint Stock Company - the leading enterprise in Vietnam in the production of quartz-based artificial stone.

From June 2014 to present, he has held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vicostone - a unit of Phenikaa Group. At the end of 2024, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang ranked 11th in the list of richest people on the Vietnamese stock exchange with an estimated asset of VND 8,930 billion (according to statistics of stock exchanges).

In parallel with business and research activities, Mr. Nang is known as the person who contributed to Phenikaa University's development according to the model of innovation, research orientation and technology transfer.

As the head of Phenikaa University, Mr. Ho Xuan Nang believes that the school not only trains students to be good at their profession, but also helps them become people who know how to change themselves and serve the country.
