
On the occasion of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival, the movie "Red Rain" will be screened for free in 9 provinces and cities from November 15 to November 20, 2025, to spread the appeal of cinema works on the theme of war.
The program is chaired by the Department of Cinema (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with the National Cinema Center, local Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and many related units.
Screenings will be held in Hanoi , Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hue, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. Each locality will have a special screening, bringing patriotism and national pride closer to audiences nationwide.
Directed by Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, "Red Rain" recreates 81 days and nights of fierce fighting to protect Quang Tri Citadel through a modern, emotional and profound cinematic lens.
Released on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the film not only created a great artistic resonance but also set a record for the highest box office revenue in the history of Vietnamese cinema.
Besides "Red Rain", the Film Week welcoming the 24th Vietnam Film Festival also introduces 18 typical cinematographic works rich in humanistic and artistic values such as: Childhood Moon, Peach, Pho and Piano, The Scent of Burning Grass, Lady Hong Ha, Red Dawn, Jasmine, The Returnee, Quan Tien Legend, Dong Loc Crossroads, Hanoi 12 Days and Nights, The Prophet, I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass, Those Who Write Legends, Living with History, The White-ringed Bird, A Phu's Wife, August Star and 17th Parallel Days and Nights.

It is expected that within the framework of the Film Week, audiences in 6 localities including Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Dak Lak and Can Tho will have the opportunity to attend exchange sessions with film crews, actors and directors, thereby understanding more about the creative journey, artistic backstage and humane messages conveyed by the works.
The program is expected to contribute to honoring the value of Vietnamese cinema, arousing national pride, and affirming the position of revolutionary cinema in the contemporary cultural flow.
