On the afternoon of November 4, a working delegation from the Ministry of Education and Training led by Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong visited and supported the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City to overcome damage caused by floods after storm No. 12.
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training, as of November 3, schools under the People's Committees of communes and wards suffered damage to facilities and equipment worth about 12 billion VND; schools and centers under the Department suffered estimated damage of more than 2.8 billion VND.
Immediately after the flood receded, the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City directed units and schools to mobilize local forces to urgently carry out damage repair work at the units; clean schools and classrooms, ensure disease prevention and control work, in order to promptly stabilize early teaching and learning so that preschool children, students and trainees can return to school.

At the same time, organize visits, support and encouragement to families of civil servants, workers and students who suffered accidents and difficulties caused by heavy rain and floods.
The Deputy Minister acknowledged the efforts of the entire sector to minimize damage. At the same time, he requested the education sector and localities to continue to pay attention and provide guidance to support schools to quickly overcome the damage and ensure teaching and learning activities.
“The most important thing right now is to bring students back to school safely, from preschool to high school. When children can go to school, do not focus on formalities or rigid regulations; there is no need for clean clothes and neat shoes. Just having children go to school safely, with teachers and friends by their side, is already precious,” the Deputy Minister emphasized, while reminding the local education sector to closely follow weather developments and proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to both overcome and prevent natural disasters, ensuring absolute safety for teachers and students.

When returning to school, it is necessary to ensure environmental hygiene, disinfection, and at the same time pay attention to the psychology and spirit of teachers, students and parents to help them stabilize quickly after the natural disaster.
“The Ministry of Education and Training requires ensuring the school year plan, but not mechanically or hurriedly; teaching must be flexible, gentle and effective. Along with that, it is necessary to continue reviewing and supporting facilities and teaching equipment to soon stabilize school operations,” Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong directed.
At the meeting, on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Deputy Minister presented 750 million VND to support educational institutions and schools in Da Nang city to overcome damage caused by floods.

Along with that, the Ministry of Education and Training donated 125,000 textbooks worth 2.5 billion VND to help students in flood-affected areas soon stabilize their studies.

The working group also supported 10 million VND for 1 family of a teacher who died and 10 million VND for 2 families of students who died in the recent floods, showing the industry's concern and sympathy for the loss and pain of teachers, students and people in the areas affected by storms and floods.
