The Pioneering Avenue of Light in Vietnam tells heritage stories using technology

Unlike many other light avenues, where light is mainly used to showcase technology or create decorative accents, the Light Avenue in Thanh Hoa chooses to tell the story of the origin of Dong Son culture through the language of light.

Over thousands of years of history, Dong Son culture is not only the pride of the Thanh people but also the original mark of ancient Vietnamese civilization. Familiar motifs such as the sun, Lac birds, and bronze drums not only appear on archaeological artifacts, but also convey a profound philosophy of life about the harmony between humans and nature, between labor, creativity and the aspiration to reach the light.

With a length of more than 3km, the avenue has the appearance of both an outdoor art exhibition and a large-scale landscape architecture.

Right at the entrance of the Avenue of Light, the image of the Lac Bird spreading its wings to welcome the dawn appears as a milestone marking the beginning of an emotional journey that evokes the desire to explore . From here, the light leads visitors into three consecutive stages of experience, recreating the cycle of life through each level of color and emotion.

The first stage, the warm spreading yellow color of dawn symbolizes the origin of civilization, the first moment of light illuminating the journey of Dong Son people from the dawn of history.

Next is the "river of light" with seven rainbow colors, reflecting the image of the gentle Ma Giang River, the source of culture, history and prosperity of Thanh land.

The journey ends in a magical purple-blue space, where thousands of interwoven LED lights create a sparkling Milky Way in the heart of the city, bringing viewers into a feeling that is both sacred and modern, as if witnessing the intersection between the past and the future through the language of light.

Three light themes follow each other like a visual symphony, taking visitors through many emotions - from warm, energetic to calm, magical.

The outstanding difference of “Dong Son Light Avenue” lies in the way technology is applied to recreate heritage. Instead of using light as a decorative element, the project turns light into a storytelling language, a tool to convey culture through visual emotions.

Advanced technologies such as 3D mapping, interactive lasers, LEDs, and holograms are integrated synchronously, allowing the creation of three-dimensional spatial motion effects. The image of the Fairy Bird spreading its wings or the shining sun not only appears vividly and interacts with the viewer. When night falls, the entire avenue becomes a “light stage” where light, sound, and movement blend into a total work of art.

According to the design, Dong Son Light Avenue is created as an artistic flow with a consistent theme of Dong Son civilization, including 10 clusters of lighting works stretching along the street. Each cluster is a "chapter" in the symphony of light - technology - heritage, recreating the creative journey of human beings from the beginning to modernity.

The opening is the “Golden Stream of Sunlight”, symbolizing the source of solar energy – the beginning of life and ancient civilization. Next, the “Tower of Light” rises high like a flame symbolizing the spirit of continuous development of the Dong Son people – symbolizing the enduring vitality of Thanh Hoa land today.

In the middle of the avenue, “Dreamy Bamboo Stream” brings a soft, quiet rhythm, evoking the soul of the countryside, craft villages and nature of Thanh land – where tradition and modernity blend in the same breath of light.

Closing the journey is the “Giant Fairy Bird” – a highly symbolic artistic highlight, where light tells the national mythical story using modern projection technology. The image of the Fairy Bird spreading its wings in the night sky not only recalls the Dong Son culture, but also symbolizes the aspiration for prosperity of Thanh Hoa in the new era.

These four light themes connect into a unique narrative, helping Dong Son Light Avenue become the most unique art-themed lighting project in Vietnam, where heritage is revived by light and connected to the future.

In addition, 14 light gates of Dong Son Drum - Lac Bird apply moving hologram technology to create the effect of flying birds, the drum surface glows rhythmically to the music, bringing an attractive visual experience. Along with that are 4 light bridges "Fairy Weaving Light" connecting two commercial streets, symbolizing the connection between the past and the present, between heritage and the future.

According to architectural experts: "Light Avenue" in Thanh Hoa shows a new design mindset: using light and technology to tell cultural stories in modern urban spaces".

Located in the 176-hectare Eurowindow Light City urban area, the Avenue of Light is not only an architectural and landscape highlight but also a symbol of long-term investment vision, linking urban development with preserving the cultural identity of Thanh land.
