The organizing committee of the “National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage” Week and the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 , taking place from November 18-23, at the Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, said that up to now, the basic preparations have been completed. Localities are “winding up” for the opening day of the festival.
Promoting traditional culture on a large scale
Head of the program's organizing committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy affirmed that the "National Great Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week is an activity of profound political , cultural and social significance, aiming to honor the strength of national great unity, arouse pride and awareness of preserving and promoting the value of national cultural heritage.
This is not only an opportunity to promote the image of the country and people of Vietnam, but also an opportunity for localities to exchange, learn and spread good traditional cultural values, contributing to strengthening the spiritual foundation of society, serving the sustainable development of the country.
Regarding the progress of the program, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Tran Manh Hung said that the Department has closely coordinated with relevant units in developing the program script, arranging the space for organizing activities, preparing the workforce of artisans and extras, and unifying the plan for propaganda and promotion of the event. Reception, logistics, security, order, environmental sanitation, etc. have also been carefully reviewed.

According to the plan, the "Great National Unity - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" Week will have many rich activities: Opening program with the participation of more than 1,000 people including artisans, compatriots of 16 ethnic groups, mass actors...; Mass art festival; Costume show; Performance, introduction of festival excerpts, traditional cultural rituals of the Muong ethnic group;
Exhibition to introduce and promote traditional culture of Muong ethnic groups in localities; Demonstration and introduction of traditional handicrafts of Muong ethnic groups; Scientific seminar on "Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development;" Program to promote and introduce Vietnamese culture to international friends at the "Common House;" National Great Unity Day; Cultural colors of festivals; performance, exchange and introduction of cultures of ethnic groups.
Where "Muong heritage" is honored
With the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group in the new era," the 2nd Muong Ethnic Cultural Festival in 2025 will be held on a scale including the provinces and cities of Hanoi, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Son La and Thanh Hoa, from November 21-23, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism.
The festival will be a space for special activities such as: Displaying, introducing and promoting the traditional culture of the local Muong ethnic group; Performing and introducing traditional handicrafts of the Muong ethnic group; Mass art festival; Performing Muong ethnic costumes; Performing and introducing excerpts of festivals and traditional cultural activities of the Muong ethnic group...

In addition, a parade of Muong ethnic cultural performance art will take place around Hoan Kiem Lake, along with public performances and activities to introduce and promote traditional Muong ethnic culture and art.
Representatives of the localities said that the participation plan, the featured art program and the performances reflecting the unique traditional cultural beauty have been basically completed. The space for displaying and introducing handicraft products, cuisine and tourism images is also ready for exchange and performance activities within the framework of the event.
Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy highly appreciated the thorough preparation and positive response of the localities. Industry leaders also requested units and localities to continue reviewing and completing the contents according to the plan, ensuring progress and quality, focusing on building specific coordination contents, especially for the participation of artisans in the event.
“Activities need to be organized practically and effectively, imbued with national cultural identity, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, humanity and creativity of the Vietnamese people. Thereby, contributing to promoting the image of the country and Vietnamese people to the world, affirming the role of culture in sustainable development and international integration,” the Deputy Minister emphasized./.
