On the morning of November 6, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Hoang Giang issued a decision to establish working groups and assign areas to inspect and direct response to storm No. 13.

Quang Ngai established 7 working groups of the Provincial People's Committee and 4 Command Centers to support response to storm No. 13.

Accordingly, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Steering Committee Nguyen Hoang Giang is responsible for directing the overall activities of the working delegation.

The province established 7 working delegations, of which 5 delegations were headed by Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee; the remaining 2 delegations were led by leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Department of Industry and Trade and members of the Provincial People's Committee.

Members of the working delegations include representatives of the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command and the Departments of Agriculture and Environment, Construction, Industry and Trade, Health, Education and Training.

Soldiers trim trees to prevent storm No. 13 in Quang Ngai

The Quang Ngai Provincial Civil Defense Command decided to establish four command posts to support response to storm No. 13 in order to promptly direct and mobilize forces and means to help people respond to and overcome the consequences of storms and floods.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran The Phan, Commander of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, said that in order to proactively respond to storm No. 13 and its circulation after the storm, the Provincial Military Command directed units and localities to continuously update the situation, adjust disaster prevention and control plans and search and rescue; strictly maintain the command and duty regime, and call center 112 to receive and process information on natural disasters and catastrophes; check the system of facilities and rescue vehicles, ensuring that forces and vehicles are ready to mobilize when situations arise.

The response was deployed in accordance with the "4 on-site" motto.

The Provincial Military Command also focused on ensuring the safety of warehouses and barracks, and mobilized more than 2,500 officers and soldiers and more than 150 vehicles including armored vehicles, cars, ships, boats and many rescue equipment to respond to the storm.

In emergency situations, temporary command posts will be established in 5 regions and a regular command post will be maintained at the Provincial Military Command to promptly handle situations, with 100% of troops on combat readiness.

Instruct people to evacuate to safety

The Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command has prepared plans to evacuate more than 5,000 households in areas at high risk of being affected by storms; and is ready to evacuate more than 4,000 households with over 16,000 people in areas at risk of landslides and flash floods.

On the same morning, Dak Lak Provincial Police said they had mobilized 300 officers and soldiers of the Mobile Police Department to the eastern communes of the province to support people in preventing storm No. 13.

Accordingly, on the night of November 5, more than 300 officers and soldiers of the Mobile Police Department in the West, equipped with specialized vehicles, were dispatched to reinforce the police in communes and wards in the East of the province, supporting people in evacuation, relocation, disaster response, and rescue when requested.

In addition, the police force also organized the movement of hundreds of boats to safely anchor at wharves and yards in the province.

Officers and soldiers are equipped with specialized equipment to respond to storms.

Previously, on the afternoon of November 5, Mr. Ta Anh Tuan, Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, inspected storm prevention work in the eastern communes and wards of the province.
