Releasing a 30kg python into the wild

QTO - On November 6, the People's Committee of Tuyen Hoa commune announced that the unit had just coordinated with Cao Quang Forest Ranger Station to receive and release a rare python into the natural environment.

Previously, Mr. Pham Van Nam, in Bau 3 village, Tuyen Hoa commune, discovered a python that had strayed into his house. Knowing that this was a rare wild animal, Mr. Nam's family reported it to the local authorities and the Forest Ranger force to hand it over. This python weighed 30kg and was in normal health at the time of handover. After receiving it, the People's Committee of Tuyen Hoa commune coordinated with Cao Quang Forest Ranger Station to carry out procedures to release this python back into the natural environment.

The ground python has the scientific name Python bivittatus, belonging to the list of endangered, precious, and rare forest animals, group IIB, regulated in Circular No. 27/2025/TT-BNNMT, dated June 24, 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment .
