According to an update from the Road Management Area II, the current weather in the area is mainly light wind, accompanied by light to moderate rain in some places. As of 7:00 a.m. on November 7, on the national highways and expressways under the management of this unit, no damage has been recorded due to the storm's impact.
Meanwhile, the Road Management Area III said that due to the impact of storm No. 13, the eastern provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak experienced heavy rain and strong winds. After the storm dissipated, the storm's circulation continued to cause prolonged rain, while other areas experienced moderate to heavy rain.
The specific impacts are concentrated on National Highway 1 and the eastern branch of Truong Son Road in Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces, which are all in the eye of the storm. Many trees have fallen, electric poles have broken onto the road, corrugated iron roofs and other objects have been blown away by the wind, obstructing traffic. Regular maintenance units have been urgently cutting and clearing to clear traffic in time. Especially on National Highway 1 through Song Cau, Tuy An, Dong Hoa (Dak Lak province) and the eastern Truong Son Road ( Gia Lai province). , the situation of fallen trees is serious, leading to local traffic congestion.
Initial damage recorded included power outages in many places and traffic signs were broken in series. Particularly on the East branch of Truong Son Street, the situation was more serious with the following specific locations:
At Dak Po To bridge (Km378+130), M1 pier eroded the entire road at the bridgehead, making the road impassable.
The section Km390+500-Km391+400 (Gia Lai province) was flooded from 1.2-1.8m, currently still 0.8m deep, leading to complete traffic jam.
Section Km402-Km402+700 (Gia Lai province) was flooded on average 1.2-1.4m, now it is 0.7m, the route is completely blocked due to flooding.
The section Km404+100-Km404+350 (Gia Lai province) was also flooded at an average depth of 1.2-1.4m, now only 0.7m, completely blocked.
The above flooded locations have been fenced, road closure signs posted and local authorities notified to ensure safety.
Regarding response work, Road Management Area III promptly informed the Gia Lai Department of Construction and localities about the damage and traffic congestion on the eastern branch of Truong Son Road, and coordinated traffic diversion. The Area leaders went directly to the scene to immediately implement repairs at Dak Po To Bridge (Km378+130).
In addition, the unit is checking and urging field offices and regular maintenance units to urgently implement on-site solutions to clear the road as quickly as possible.
