On the Vietnamese side, there were Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam; along with representatives of relevant ministries, branches and units; representatives of Quang Ninh, Dien Bien, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri provinces, Hue City, Da Nang City; and representatives of Thanh Cong Group's leadership.
On the Lao side, there were Lao Minister of Industry and Trade Malaithong Kommasith , Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao PDR to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh, Lao Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Chanthaboun Souk Aloun; and representatives of relevant ministries, branches and units.
On the side of Thanh Cong Group, there were Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Vice Chairman of Thanh Cong Group; Mr. Le Do, Deputy General Director of Thanh Cong Group and General Director of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Technology Complex Industrial Park Joint Stock Company, and representatives of units under the Group.

According to Thanh Cong Group's report, Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory is built on an area of over 36 hectares, with a total designed capacity of 120,000 vehicles/year. This is a cooperation project between TC Group and Skoda Auto brand (Czech Republic), marking the presence of the first European automobile brand manufactured in Vietnam. The factory is equipped with a modern, highly automated production line system, meeting European technical and environmental standards.


The working delegation also included representatives of Departments, Offices and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the two countries.
In the first phase, the factory will focus on assembling Skoda Kushaq and Slavia models in CKD form (completed in Vietnam from imported components). It is expected that from 2026, the project will expand to the production of electric vehicles and auxiliary components, aiming for a higher localization rate, gradually participating more deeply in the global value chain.
Expressing his impression of Thanh Cong Group's success in the field of automobile manufacturing and assembly, the Director of the Department of Processing Industry, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Laos wished to learn from its experience and learn more about the support policies of the Government and Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam for this field.

Mr. Le Do - Deputy General Director of Thanh Cong Group and General Director of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Technology Complex Industrial Park Joint Stock Company said that in the field of investment and operation of automobile manufacturing plants, the Group received many support and incentive policies from the Vietnamese Government, ministries, branches and especially the locality - Quang Ninh province.
“ We receive support and incentives on policies related to taxes and land use fees. Regarding taxes, including import tax on components, VAT on imported components… all enjoy incentives according to current regulations of Vietnam,” Mr. Le Do stated.

Regarding products, Thanh Cong Group focuses on developing for the domestic market, while also aiming for export, especially to countries in the region. On this occasion, the Group's leaders expressed their hope to receive support from Lao state management agencies to promote and boost a number of cooperation activities, thereby bringing high-quality, reasonably priced Vietnamese automobile products to the Lao market in the near future.

During the working session, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and Lao Minister of Industry and Trade Malaythong Kommasith visited the production line and inspected the operations of the welding, painting and assembly workshops.
